It’s Thursday (well almost – since it’s only 11:41pm)! We’re almost done with the work week. Wahoooooo! I wish it was mid May though. I am really excited for May to come; this is the most excited I’ve felt in over a year!  I can’t wait to share the FUN and EXCITING news. I consider it a blessing to our family. :)

I wanted to share a couple of things. ((RAK info at the end of post)).

First, I know I’m behind on the ROL guest designers, but I am tackling my way through all of the wonderful and astonishing applications! It’s such a tough decision trying to decide with all of the talent that has been thrown my way. I plan on sharing the guest designers in a couple of weeks, so please stay tuned for that.

Second, our house is going to be under construction, again! We’ve searched up and down for the right flooring, and I think we found one that we really like. Boy, was it hard to pick something when you’ve got HUNDREDS of choices. Hopefully soon, most of the renovations will be done.

See, tough decisions when there are too many choices.

Tough decisions when there are too many choices.

Third, the talented Jill sent me something thoughtful. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to get the mail yesterday. If you haven’t checked out her stuff, head on over to her blog. She never runs out of scrapping mojo – she’s one super talented scrapper!

Thank you Jill; you totally inspire me!

Thank you so much, Jill; you totally inspire me!

Fourth, Marissa was so kind enough to add me to the Scrap Blog Congo Line!

Instructions are:

  • when you receive an invitation to join, you add the image as a sidebar picture widget.
  • then link the image to the one person who’s blog you want to be next in line.

Rules:

  • You can only join the line if you are invited.
  • You can only pass it on to one person.

So how long can we go??? Lets make the longest conga line in the world!! I’d like to see go all the way around the world and back [to the person who started it, or perhaps to me?]

Make sure you follow through until the person you invite has added it to their blog otherwise the chain will be broken and it won’t work. If you receive an invitation and don’t want to be in the line then kindly let the person know who sent it to you so they can invite someone else.

I think this goes also for one who already has received the invitation. Let the person who invited you know you’ve already been invited so the person can invite someone else? Since it says you can only pass it on to one person… if you are invited twice, would that be considered passing it on to two people??? Any comments on this? Anyone? anyone? anyone?

We are really excited to see where this will end up! I am passing this to…. Lydia… come on down!

Fifth, I finally managed to finish up some layouts. I’ve been slacking with the creativity recently (it must be all of the new changes in the house). Any way, here are the latest layouts.

Oh, and of course… I had to share a picture I snapped of Maui earlier this week. She kept looking at me with her bulgy eyeballs when I was outside watering the grass, so I had to come inside and take it. I totally LOVE this precious face.

Is it time to go shopping at the pets store now?!

"Watering the grass, again?!"

If you haven’t done so, read the last post to enter the previous giveaways. I’m drawing two winners to the last RAK, so make sure to play along. As for this new RAK, it’s a bunch of chipboard goodies. I realized that I have way too much chipboard — raw, colored, shapes, letters, and other random pieces. They are scattered all over the place, and it’s driving me nuts, so I’ve decided to give some of it away. To win some chipboard goodnees, share a link with a layout you have completed using some chipboard (old or new). Again, you have until Saturday, May 2nd by 11:59 pm to play along.

Hugs,

Sarah.

I just looked at the calendar and realized that we are almost done with April. Seriously, where does the time go?! That’s okay though because come May, I’ve got a lot of fun and exciting things going on. I can’t wait to share the news! It’s making me grin from ear to ear.

Anyway, I’ve been cleaning up the scrap room. I’ve got stuff ALL OVER THE PLACE. It looks like a tornado came through my room, haha. I can’t even walk into the room because there is stuff all over the floor. I’ve been trying to sort through stuff I have not seen since I bought it. Yes, I admit that I buy stuff, and it ends up just sitting there waiting to be used. I’m also trying to sort through some of the scrap supplies where I used a couple of letters and never bothered with the rest. I’ve also got boxes and boxes of untouched material — I really don’t know what to do with all of it!

I recently just bought this to help my desktop space – I absolutely LOVE it! I store a stack of recent pictures in here, so that it helps me tackle the pile before I print new ones.

This is a good way to store your tools!

This is a good way to store your tools!

I just recently received the Grab ‘N Go as a gift, and it really helps me keep track of the small embellishments that never get used. Plus, I plan on letting it sit on my desk so I’ll be more likely to use my stuff. I figure that once I use up one pack of embellishments, I’ll just add another pack from my box of unused supplies.

This actually helps me to keep track of what I have.

It helps me keep track of what I have.

Today, I plan on working on paper storage. I bought more of the cubes for my paper because I ran out of space. :( I think I’m going to arrange paper by brand. Does anyone else have any better ideas for paper storage?

While I try to organize my room, I’ll start off with two RAKS! Yes, two — meaning there will be TWO winners! To play, you have to…

  1. Leave a comment with your favorite scrapbook brand… and for those of you who do not scrapbook, I’m interested to know whether or not  you have ever tried to scrapbook.
  2. If you have a blog, post my giveaway on your blog for more players. If you do so, I’ll add your name in twice… but make sure to let me know that you shared it on your blog.
  3. You have until Saturday (May 2), by 11:59 pm PST to play!

Stay tuned, I’m doing more giveaways! This is just the first one!

I totally love that Weezer song. It’s ingenious; it has been added to my play list. Anyway, the above mini album and “The Joys of Freedom” layout were just some projects I made to document the way I feel about my life right now — content and overjoyed.

Also, another something to share… while I was cleaning my room, I found an invite that I made for a friend’s baby shower. It’s shaped like a baby diaper that holds the party information on the inside. Isn’t it adorable?!

I love the yellow colors to this baby shower invite.

Last weekend, I went out to the city with my brother and his friend. She came to visit San Francisco, so we opted to show her around some of what the city has to offer. Here are some random pictures from our little excursion.

I cut my hair SHORT. It feels weird, but I guess I’m getting used to it. I have been getting compliments on it, so I guess that’s a good thing, right? On top of that, Maui got shaved, so both of us had trims! I’ll have to post pictures of how funny she looks now.

Oh, and the best part — RAK coming this weekend!!!!! I’ve got TONS of giveaways to give out in the next couple of weeks. I’ve been cleaning my scrap room, and I really need to finish organizing everything. Look for one tomorrow. :)

Okay, that’s it for now. More layouts to come once I get the chance to scan them.

Happy Friday!

Sarah.

PS: Thank you to everyone for their kind words on the last post. Your kindness means the world to me. Hugs!

Sometimes, do you ever get the urge to just keep talking, and the words just keep spewing out of your mouth? Truthfully, in the past couple of weeks, I’d have to say YES. So, here’s to more word vomit.

People can really annoy the shiet out of me. I don’t know why they even bother to compare themselves to me or my life. I don’t have anything that great, and frankly, I don’t feel accomplished compared to most people my age, 25. I’m just an average girl experiencing life — doing what I do best, LIVING. If people think I’m jealous of them, or if they think they’re better… then so be it. Honestly, I don’t really care. The only person I care to live my life for is God and for myself. So, in honor of myself, I plan to have more word vomit about why I’m proud of myself (I’ve never complimented myself before EVER, so bare with me).

  • I love my skin color! I think being dark brown is hot. Just because my culture likes to be fair-skinned, does not mean I want to be pale.
I have finally realized that I LOVE my dark skin color.

I finally realized that I LOVE my dark skin color.

  • I could not ask for a better home. It makes me feel fortunate that I get to live and flourish in the bay area, especially since I grew up in the Sacramento area. Although small, without a REAL yard and only a patio, our home is comfortable and cozy for what we have, and in due time, we plan on buying an Eichler home somewhere nearby where I can finally have my own place to scrap and call my own. That is my dream, but for now, I have everything I need right here in our very first home.
Our first home sweet home.

Our first home sweet home.

  • I LOVE my hair – short or long, straight or wavy. I especially love the natural dark color of my hair. It’s who I am, and I don’t want to hide that.
  • I have the BEST family any girl could ever ask  for. I have parents that love me unconditionally without even questioning, and brothers who are amazingly and surprisingly supportive of all the things I do.
Seriously, the BEST.

Seriously, the BEST.

  • I’m fortunate to have a cute, happy, smart, and healthy dog. She may not be as photogenic as everyone else’s pet, but she fills our home with so much love (and entertainment, of course).
No dog, in my opinion, could make me smile the way she does.

No dog, in my opinion, could make me smile the way she does.

  • I’m surrounded by people who love me and support my every decision. People who choose to put me down or compare themselves to me — I don’t bother to associate with them. I have one life, and I choose to live it freely and peacefully. There is no reason for me to be jealous when I have everything I want and need.
  • I choose to love God. He has blessed me with a life I know I will not regret.
  • I LOVE the way I look. Some people may think I’m fat because I love to eat, but guess what?! Just because I’m not fair-skinned and SKINNY as !&$? does not mean I’m not GORGEOUS. I think I’m beautiful inside and out.  If you disagree, well… get your eyes checked because I’m hot. People throw themselves at me, haha. ;)
Admit it. This is hotness, inside and out.

Admit it. This is hotness, inside and out.

  • I’m smart, and can speak for myself. I fight my own fights. I’m articulate when I want to be, and when needed, I write and spell like a professional. ;)
  • I’m honest and true. I tell my life the way it is with no embellishments. If you don’t like it, then stop stalking me.
  • I’m lucky to have Gloria in my life. She’s one crazy weirdo that supports me in all ways possible.
On the bathroom mirror, to remind me of how weird we are.

On the bathroom mirror, to remind me of how weird we are.

  • I LOVE my ability to create. Sometimes, I find myself artistically challenged, but when I look at how many people feel inspired by my layouts and albums, I praise myself for my willingness to share my ideas. I may not be getting paid for my creative capabilities like others that use their creative to gain money, but I love to share. Greediness and money, at least to me, is not the way to live.
  • I’m fortunate enough to choose whether or not I want to work. I should probably be doing what everyone else in society is doing — working their asses off to pay off loans and saving up for future plans (aka future houses and family life)… but honestly, all of that is not what makes a FULL life! Life is being grateful for the blessings you have TODAY. Society wastes their life worrying about how much money everyone makes or what type of job they have. We have MORE than enough for being 25, and honestly, I don’t care. I’ll sit at home and scratch my ass all day if I want. Laugh at me now, but don’t be jealous. Life is life, live it.
  • I’m proud to admit that I’m a victim, but also a survivor. :) It feels so good to admit that; it just makes me a stronger person.
  • I wear whatever makeup I feel like wearing. And actually, I still feel pretty walking around in public without it on. (Oh, and I LOVE the bags under my eyes. I can’t hide those, and I don’t plan on it. It just shows that I feel the wears and tears in life).
This is the real me, and I love her with or without makeup.

This is the real me, and I love her with or without makeup.

  • I stink most of the time from sweating because I like to get down and dirty… but guess what?! I don’t care. I love being dirty, so I can take a nice clean shower.
  • I have ugly feet because I don’t waste my money getting pedicures all the time. I rarely go, but who cares?! Feet are the last thing people look at.

Okay, that’s my list for now. I may have sounded conceited, but whatever. Think what you will of me. I love God, and I love myself. It took me 25 years to realize that, and I’m not going to have ANYONE take that away from me.

As for the latest layouts, I am so behind with posting all of the challenges and projects I have completed, but here’s a few to share:

Another sketch from Kelli over at Pink Sketches! I love how fun this one turned out.

Scrap Outside the Box has a fun challenge running for this month. Use an envelope on your layout, and share it with us. There’s prizes, so make sure to check it out! Here’s mine:

There’s a challenge over at Butterfly Crafts dealing with your favorite childhood toy! I loved my “My First Song” tape player!

I will definitely be back with more updates. I’m tired of immature games, I’m much older than that. But, it sure feels good to be where I’m at in life – HAPPY and fulfilled. That’s it for my word vomit. Excuse my mess.

Wishing you the best of luck,

Sarah.

I know, I know. I haven’t written a post in such a long time. No, I’m not going to stop writing! Thank you to EVERYONE has who contacted me with concerns of whether or not I’m okay. Actually, I’m feeling wonderful and inspired.

I do plan on writing a post with TONS of updates of what I have been up to and lots of new creativity tomorrow, so stay tuned for that.

As for now, I have to take Maui to the vet, again. She has been in and out of the pet hospital. …but for now, here are some pictures of Maui spending time in our house.

Play tug-o-war with me, please!

"Play tug-o-war with me, please!"

Another picture?!

"Another picture?! Don't you have hundreds all ready!?"

I totally love her face.

I totally love her face.

Hugs,

Sarah.
