These past few days have been unbelievably exhausting. Today, I’ve been recuperating from a weekend full of fun in the sun.
I spent the majority of my weekend playing in the city. Here are some pictures from this weekend’s annual Pride parade:

Last but not least, I can’t go without sharing some of my recent layouts. The following two layouts were created for Pink Sketches. Can you believe that we are on Sketch #37?! PS: I’m so jealous of all of you girls that spent the weekend at the SISaversary! I wish I could’ve been there. I’m glad all of you had tons of fun though! Perhaps next year I’ll be able to make it.

As for an update on my life, let’s just say that life has been life. It’s absolutely wonderful some days, and it has its twist and turns every now and then. This year, however, has taught me to just let go and enjoy life. Here’s a quote from Regina Brett: “If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.”
Yesterday, we went to Petroglyph. It’s a place where you get to express your creativity by painting on ceramic. We’ve been a few times before, but we felt an urge to take a trip. Here are some pictures to share:

After we finished our projects, we walked around Willow Glen. While exploring, we found this really cute candy shop called Powell’s Sweet Shoppe. I swear it had every type of candy, and it even had vintage candy too! We had a ton of fun exploring around the store, and sampling different kinds of candy of course!

Lately, I’ve been on a scrap supply binge. I’ve been buying left and right. Do I need these things? Not really. Will I use it? Yeah, probably… if it’s visible, of course. I guess this is the joy of being a scrapper, right?
Yesterday, I bought the latest journaling spots and alphas from Jillibean Soup. I’m in love with their stuff!

What’s a girl to do with new supplies?! Use them, of course!
Scrap Schemes released their latest scheme today. Use the image below as inspiration for a project, and make sure to share it with us. My layout used brads, heart cut outs, and ribbon to create that linear focal point from the balloons in the photograph.

I guess both of them wanted to help me photograph the latest projects.
From a bell pepper that we ate, we took the seeds and planted them. Talk about growth!
Speaking of growth, I dug up the old pictures of the house when we FIRST moved in. I can’t even believe how much progress we’ve made since then. Many people have requested to see pictures of the renovations, so I’ve decided to share some before and after pictures.
The Family Room: We use this room the most. It used to be very dark in the room due to the colors of the wood paneling. We removed all the wood panels and acoustic popcorn on the ceiling, painted the walls, and removed the carpet.
The Fireplace Area: We are not entirely done with this project yet. We have someone making our mantle for us, and we also need to remove the old tile and put something new there. Hopefully, we’ll have it all done by Christmastime so we’ll have a chimney for Santa Clause!
The Patio/Outdoor Dining Area: I used to hate the patio, but now I love this space! Originally, it was all concrete, and it just felt so BLEH! However, we turned it into an additional part of the house. There’s now a cute outdoor dining area to eat and chit chat, grass for the dogs, and a garden for our fresh vegetables and herbs. At night, we light lanterns and candles for night lighting. I’ll have to take a picture of us hanging out after sunset!
Do you like it?! Do you? Do you?! All I can say, is that we did the majority of the work ourselves — ripping the wood paneling off the walls, painting the entire house, moving all of our boxes and furniture on our own without movers or family help, putting up curtains in each room, buying furniture, being our own delivery worker for the furniture we bought, removing the concrete in the patio, buying and lugging manure, sod, and top soil to plant the grass… The list could go on for days. All I know is that we put massive love and HEART into this place. We’ve come a long way not only aesthetically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I’m glad we’ve created so many memories in this place, and it hasn’t even been a year.
We’re not even entirely done with everything, so when more renovations occur, I’ll keep everyone posted!

- UP in 3D! I got to watch it at the nearby IMAX theater with my COOLIO 3D glasses. I’m going to have to take a picture wearing them. Anyway, I liked this movie! It made me cry.
Such a cute movie! Go see it!
- My package from SisTV came in the mail today.
That’s only some of the recent things that make me smile. Today was a great day. Tomorrow will be even better.

Let me start off by saying that our dogs hardly get themselves into trouble. Honestly, it’s a rare occasion.
However, yesterday we came home to something that made our jaws fall to the floor. We came home to find stuffing from Uncle Scott’s “Austin the Octopus” all over the floor. They weren’t in trouble because they tore a toy to pieces and tried to eat the stuffing; they’re dogs so that’s totally understandable. It was because they decided to go on a chewing spree.
They chewed up Gloria’s sunglasses. Mind you, they are NOT cheap. …and this is the 2nd time it has happened. This is the second sunglasses casualty.

Oh, and last weekend, Maui was playing outside, and a bee stung here. She started to itch her face, gag, and cough. Since she seems to be allergic to everything, I just knew that she was having an allergic reaction to the sting. I whipped out the Benadryl that her vet tells me to carry around, and I gave her the proper dosage. The itching and swelling stopped, but her cough did not. We immediately rushed her to a nearby 24 hour pet hospital (it was around 9pm). They told us that Maui had a reaction to the bee sting, so they needed to give her a shot. She’s fine now, but the bank account isn’t. Pet emergencies are never kind to the bank account.
On a better note, the weather has been beautiful, so we’re spending lots of our time outside.

Here's one way to keep cool: Stay in the shade!
We have been teaching Hilo how to fetch. It’s much easier to teach since we have Maui to demonstrate. As a matter of fact, he’s actually brought it back a couple of times.

We also decided to buy one of those small dog pools to help them keep cool. After some treat prompting, Hilo was drenched. Maui would not even give it a go; she hates getting her feet wet.

As for me, keeping the house clean and running errands, has kept me completely swamped. It’s a good thing that working from home helps me out a lot. …and suprisingly, I’ve had time to get my little craft on. I finished some layouts that I wanted to share with everyone.
I made this layout for the current challenge over at Dream Girls. I love the color combo that they picked, so I had to give it a shot.
My brother, Scott, has been asking me to make a layout of him, so I did. This layout totally cracks me up. Anyway, hope you like it, Scott!
Last but not least, here’s a layout about the dogs! I love how this one turned out. I think this has to be one of my favorite layouts.
Oh, and of course… Happy Father’s Day to all of the wonderful fathers or father figures out there. Not only is my dad my guide, he is also my good friend.
