Looks like the weather is going to be wet and humid. Doh! However, I’m so thrilled that tomorrow is Friday because that means New York is going to get a piece of me!
It’s been a couple of years since I’ve visited, so I’m really looking forward to the hustle and bustle of the city.
On another note, these past couple of days have been incredibly wonderful. I’ve had the time to sit and just meditate. The more I meditate, the more I appreciate everything that has been given to me. I feel so utterly blessed. This year has been my year.
I spent a whole day at the spa. Oh, how relaxing that was. I haven’t gone in years, so that full body massage was totally worth it.
I wish this was a daily routine.
I wish I had my own personal spa.
I was almost out the door when the spa manager pulled me to the side, and said, “Excuse me. Do you mind if I use your face? You’re really pretty!” At this point, I was thinking, “What the heck?! Are you hitting on me?!” It turns out that the spa manager wanted to test the latest makeup products on my face. At first, I was hesitant because I prefer to be more natural with a minimal amount of makep on my face. However, with a little convincing, I sat as an experiment to the makeup artist…and it turns out I absolutely LOVE Being True. Let’s just say my wallet is crying. *sniff sniff*
Here’s some before and after photos for fun:

I’m sold! These are the only makeup products I will ever use, EVER! I don’t really wear make up, but I couldn’t help but splurge. I know these products are expensive, but at least they are earth conscious.
They are only sold at select spas, so if you are interested, check your local spa.
Now for some scrapping fun… Do you like flowers? These Are a Few of My Favorite Things does! The second challenge is to create a layout or project that indicates your favorite flower. The DT did an amazing job with this round. …and I’d love to share my project, but Basic Grey now owns publication rights to my project. To check it out click here.
Okay, off to relax before I hit the sheets. The next couple of days are going to be eventful, but tiring.
Until next time,
sarah.
PS: Congratulations, Gloria. I’m really proud of you.
I knew you could do it, and I can’t wait for these upcoming months.
PPS: Scott, next time you see a barn, don’t count to six.
Heading to the East Coast during the summertime, I knew to pack appropriately for humid weather. Since I’m a California raised gal, I figured to bring along the usual sunny day apparel – shorts and a cute top. Besides, a sunny day outfit usually justifies for humid tropical weather. Well, it turns out that I should have consulted with friends that live out here. When they say “humid”, they are talking sauna weather! haha!
It is ridiculously hot and humid out here.
Oh, and the lightening out here is crazy! It lights up the night sky. Oh, and the thunder is so darn loud. Yikes! It makes me miss California weather.
Anywho, here are some pictures from the past couple of days.
This is what the lobby of the hotel looks like.
I love this relaxing view from the hotel room. The seclusion of this place feels like a retreat.
Visiting downtown Princeton was fun (and humid). We walked around Princeton University to observe the architecture and the culture of the people. I only snapped a few shots, but here’s some to share:
Doesn't the Princeton campus look like something from the Harry Potter movies?!
Oh, how she wishes she was a Princeton grad! I guess UCD's engineering program will do.
Seeeee! I told you it looks like Harry Potter buildings! LOL!
A view of the calm Delaware River.
Oh, and before I forget… thank you, Scott, for house sitting while we are out of town!
As for scrapping stuff, here’s a layout done for Pink Sketches.
Title: Pick and Choose

That’s all the updates I have for now. At this end of this week, we’ll be in New York.
Hugs to all,
sarah.
I just thought that I would pass on the news. Does anyone want some FREE new My Little Shoebox products? If you do, CLICK HERE and leave a comment. …and don’t forget to take a peek at the layout by a really cool designer on that post!
Here are a couple of sneak peeks from the August kit from Kraft Girl Kits. You’re totally going to love everything in it, so make sure to check out the reveal on August 1st. I can’t wait to show you all of the layouts/projects I made with ONE kit.
Random pictures from this morning:
"If we pose, do we get treats in return?"
You promised us treats, Mom!
"...but I'm starving!"
Fine... I'll just wait for lunch.
Oh, one more thing! Here’s a cute little layout using the latest My Little Shoebox lines:
Happy Friday to everyone!
Hugs,
sarah.
PS: Looks like there’s a change of plans. It looks like there will be traveling this upcoming week. Yay and nay.
Today, the kitchen is under construction yet again. Everything’s a mess right now. We sanded down the wall and puttied the crack. The sink/garbage disposal was removed and needs to be put back into place. I can’t wait to see what everything looks like at a completed stage.
Life is great on my end.
Working from home makes it much easier to take care of the dogs, clean the house, and *cough* scrap! …and now that we have a dining table, I have extra space to lay my scrapping supplies all over the table. I got my creativity on these past couple of days, and this is what I came up with:
Okay, that’s it.
Hugs,
sarah.
PS: I’m so thrilled that there won’t be a trip to Princeton this week, but I’m slightly bummed that we did not get a free weekend away to New York City.
Some people find happiness in the most mundane things such as money, looks, and conventional wants and needs. I heard that to be at an ultimate level of happiness, I need these three activities – laughing, dancing, and volunteering.
I’ve done just that. Do I feel happier after doing one of these activities?! Of course! This weekend, I devoted my time volunteering at Aids Walk 2009.
Aids Walk 2009
Scott signed up Bebe employees, and I signed up Starbucks employees!
Gloria, aren't you happy you helped out the community?!
Gloria and Scott putting on their "happy faces"!
Here's my version of a "happy face"!
Thank you again, to everyone who helped donate money to this cause! Gloria and I were able to reach our small goal with everyone’s contribution. We made over $200 for a great cause to fight this battle. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
This weekend, we also went flower searching in Half Moon Bay. *in a sarcastic tone* Gloria and Scott were thrilled to be dragged into my hunt for the perfect bouquets! NOT! I just wanted to make sure that the flowers at this vendor were worth it. Hopefully, the florist will be able to create what I’ve always imagined.
Trying to figure out my combination of flowers for bouquets.
Doesn't she look super thrilled to be picking out flowers?!
Scott seems thrilled, don't you think?!
….and scrapping is always something that keeps my happy! Here’s a picture of the mini album I created last week. It’s a compilation of photos from my trip to Atlanta that were just lying around in my photo bucket.
ATL Mini Album
…and here are some non 12×12 layouts I finished up last night after our Sunday BBQ. This was honestly a challenge since I tend to focus on 12×12 layouts.
Happy Monday to everyone!
Hugs,
sarah.
PS: Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater…!! HAHAH! Looks like you couldn’t do it on your own.
Oh, and just for clarification, I know who stops by my blog to snoop around in my life.
