The weather has been hot recently. I’m not complaining though because this is what summer is all about – sunshine, barbeques, and playing outdoors.
Speaking of “warm”, our house is the “warmest” that it has ever been since we moved into it. We are about 75-80%% done with all of the renovations. The under cabinet lighting is going to be put in this weekend. …and I’m so THRILLED that we finally purchased our dining table. Today, we picked up the chairs. Yes, we have been using our laps and the coffee table as table seating.
Oh, how I love tablescapes. I’m having so much fun with that.

By the end of this month, we should be completely done! THANK HEAVENS! All of the sweat and tears put into this home finally means something.
Anyway, I have been working on invitations to the housewarming party. Can you believe that my mother requested for this gathering?! I wasn’t too keen on having a party since I didn’t want to make a big deal out of the enormous changes that have happened within the past year, but she insisted. …so it gives me a reason to craft away. I’ve got some REALLY cute and simple invites in progress, which I plan to share with everyone once I finish all of them. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get them all done by next week.
Here is a project I have been working on this week:
I finished another mini album, which I will share real soon. I guess this week has been devoted to mini albums!
Oh, and today, I got to meet the owner of My Little Shoebox. She’s so incredibly sweet. I bought chipboard monograms from her at $.25 a box. What a steal, don’t you think?! Don’t worry, I was able to snag at least eight of them! I can’t wait to start working with them.
Randomness of the day – I found this really cute picture of Maui. It totally made my day.
This picture totally made my day.
Have a wonderful (and safe) weekend!
Hugs,
sarah.
PS: I’ve gotten some fun submissions so far! Make sure to send in your layouts if you want an opportunity to be published. For details, click here.
A couple of days ago, the weather was so beautiful, so we thought it would be fun to play in the park. The dogs had a blast, and I loved getting some fresh air.
On the way to the park, Hilo wished he could be co-pilot.
They are waiting for us to "chuck it".
I trained them to be photogenic. JK! =)
What’s a girl to do on a beautiful day?! Visit my favorite local scrapbook store, of course! Unfortunately, they are closing next month. I seriously don’t know where I’m going to shop for my supplies now.
Suzy always has My Little Shoebox supplies.
This is "the display". I will miss this thing.
Suzy West and I at Picture Me Perfect.
The weather has been way too hot, so we headed toward the California coast where it’s much cooler. We are so fortunate to live less than an hour away from the beaches, so we decided to hit up Santa Cruz instead of Half Moon Bay this time. We decided to play at the Boardwalk. …and what a beautiful day it was!
Go after 5pm on Tuesdays - Almost everything is $.75! Hot dogs, drinks, and even the rides! Oh, and cheap cotton candy too!
That's me on that ride! NOT! I hate rollercoasters and rides in general. HAHA. It must be my GAD. =)
Playing in the fun house! I'm holding my $.75 drink, wahooo!!!
Garlic fries = DELICIOUS!!
Here's the view of Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk from the SkyGlider.
We decided to take a break and hop on the SkyGlider. I was scared at first, but then I realized it was fun!
…and on a beautiful day, I decided to create a big mess in the family room instead of the scrap room. I had all of my scrap supplies scattered all over the floor, and I cranked out a layout and a mini album!
Scrap Outside the Box is challenging YOU to use coffee filters. Here’s my take on that challenge:
Closeup of title and coffee filters.
My latest mini album of the dogs!
A random page in the mini album.
Isn't this cute?!
Oh, and the August sneak peak of Kraft Girl Kits was posted! I can’t wait to get my hands all over this one.

Today, on this beautiful day, I plan on going more furniture shopping. I also have to return a dress I bought at the mall that I know I’m never going to wear, haha. Did I just say “mall”?! I guess on this beautiful day, I’m going to go girly girl shopping too!
Submit to the journal call. I want to see your work printed and acknowledged!
Enjoy YOUR beautiful day!
Hugs,
sarah.
Did you know that there’s a new challenge blog ready for you to get your scrap on?! Come join us at These Are a Few of My Favorite Things for our “grand opening”! The first challenge is about your favorite color. …so, of course I worked with GREEN. What’s your favorite color?!

…and guess what else?! I made the Kraft Girl Kit DT!
I was so shocked when I first found it. Check it out here. Also, I wanted to congratulate the rest of the girls that made the team!!!. I can’t wait to get started with the kits over there! They’re super cute, and I can’t wait to share all of the goodness with all of you. Here are some of the kits that Pam has released:

Aren’t they just so YUMMY?!?! I love them!

I’ve been swamped.
This past weekend, we went to celebrate another friend’s wedding. …and what a gorgeous wedding it was. Going to all of these weddings is making me antsy for mine.
A beautiful day in Castro Valley.
The inside of the Ricon Center, San Francisco.
Every wedding has to have a cake, right?!
Edible flowers. Oh, yum! haha.
Representing Table 17. =)
Cocktail time!
The alcohol was a wee bit too STRONG!
The newly wed couple - Maggie and Clarence
Scrapping has been keeping me entertained during my few hours of downtime.
I finished up my weekly layout for Pink Sketches. This one was a simple, yet fun project! I love the colors to this one. I admit… I just can’t get enough of Basic Grey’s latest June Bug line! Use the sketch and create your own beautiful creation. Make sure to share it with us over at Pink Sketches, and we’ll get it uploaded to the Pink Gallery!
…and I was so distraught over the news about my local scrapbook store closing! It makes me so sad because the girls over at Picture Me Perfect kick some major arse.
Now, it looks like I have to shop online for the latest and greatest scrapping products. I did, however, pick up the latest Sassafrass Lass line, Me Likey. …and let me just tell you, “Me likey this new line like crazy!” I’ll show you what I come up with as soon as I finish cleaning the house.
Oh, and don’t forget… I’m doing a journal call. If you want to submit some of your stunning work, please click on the links on the left side bar, or click here for more information. For any questions or comments, please direct them to redoaklines@gmail.com, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Hugs,
sarah.
If you haven’t heard the news, please pay close attention.
Did you know that…
I’m so thrilled and excited to start a printed journal filled with the latest layouts and projects from all scrappers – beginners and experienced scrappers are more than welcome to apply. I want scrappers to be acknowledged for their artistic abilities and their paper craft passion, and I want them to be able to show it off to their family and friends. I want YOU to be featured.
