Christmas is over?! How did that happen?! Although short, it was definitely a joyous celebration.
On the morning of Christmas Eve, we let Maui and Hilo open up one of their presents before all of the Christmas festivities started. Their tails would not stop wagging when they ripped the gift wrap in to pieces.
"Hmm... what could this be!?"
"Hilo, I'm going to open yours too!"
I spent Christmas Eve with Gloria and her family. Her sister was so kind enough to have all of us over for a delicious dinner.
Gloria's sister, Rebekah, was so sweet and even got gifts for the pups!
LEFT to RIGHT: Maui, Hilo, Milo, Mina
Early on Christmas morning, we packed the car up and drove to my parents’ place. When we got there, everyone was already up and antsy to open gifts.
"There are so many presents! They're going out the door!"
Finding a spot for our gift exchange is crucial in our family!
A Christmas tradition - Momma Clause!
"I found my spot, Mommy! Now let's open our presents!"
My brother, Sean, came in with a handful of gifts!
Christmas is always spent with my family.
"I'm the best present Mommy received... EVER!"
"No, I am because I'm spotted!"
"Opening all of my presents is a workout. Nap time!"
As Deana says, "Life is too short to drink cheap wine!"
All in all, it was a wonderful and joyous day. I didn’t expect anything from anyone this year because I’ve already been majorly spoiled this year, but I received some awesome gifts. My favorite gift was the time I got to spend with my mom; I think we stayed up until 3 in the morning talking about everything and nothing.
The day after Christmas, we all went bowling as a family. Even my mom decided to rent some shoes and play along; this was her first time to bowl, by the way!
Go, Mom, go!
Nice hair, Scott. lol. I guess Gloria didn't get the memo to turn and look at the camera!
I'm HORRIBLE at bowling, but I'm GREAT at waiting for my turn.
…so there you have it — my weekend in a nutshell. There’s at least a couple hundred more photos, but it would take forever for me to share all of them.
On another note…

Looks like you had a really fabulous holiday as did the puppers – did they sleep on the way home? What great photos of such happy times. Dan and I rarely go out on NYE anymore – we just sit at home – he watches football and I usually read or craft. We always have a great dinner on New Year’s Day – this year is a honey ham. black eyed peas, sweet potatoes, salad, and dessert. Have a wonderful new year!

Great pictures!! It looks like you all had an amazing time.
For New Year’s Eve, we plan to stay home. Hubby and I are thinking of watching a few movies with our girls and then once they go to bed, watching some seasons of House, which he just got.
It should be a great night!
Thanks for the chance at some goodies…

Hi Sarah, nice pictures…there’s nothing like a family get together. I wish my dad and sister could be over here, but they are thousands of miles away, and my mom just passed away in September. Well, this would be the first new year for my daughter since she just moved here to Ohio with us. So we will probably just stay home, watching movie. I don’t know if she would be able to stay up til midnight (she just turned 6)

LOL… I’m glad you were not drinking cheap wine!
Adorable Christmas photos. Bryn asked who the other 2 dogs were. All 4 are SO CUTE!
We are probably staying home, but haven’t made plans yet. I don’t like to be out driving with the “crazies” that night, so I don’t mind staying home & having “date night” some other night!
Big hugs…

Your puppies are so cute! Our kitty knew which presents under the tree were for him and he tried for two weeks to rip it open with just his teeth (no front claws)! New Years…hmmm… still up in the air…. probably partying at some body’s home then home for the night. Thanks for the chance to win stuff!

Hi Sarah. I’m glad you had a fantastic Christmas
Enjoyed your photos, too. It is our tradition to go to my dh’s parents’ for black eyed peas on New Year’s day and that’s what we will do. I have posted the link on my blog. http://scrapbookedmoments.blogspot.com/2009/12/another-giveaway.html

And I wanted to share something. I went to Target yesterday and saw this book titled “Hello, Cupcake!”. When I saw the cover, I thought of you

Such lovely photos, your puppies looked like they had fun! My puppies pulled all the toys out of their stockings before anyone even knew what was going on! This New Year’s, now that I am in Texas, we made reservations at a great downtown Fort Worth restaurant and we are going to get some bubbly stay at home and watch a movie and then we are going to welcome the new year with open arms and each other. I bet a kiss will be arranged somewhere in there. ; )

I loved your photos of your Christmas.. I gotta upload some of our Christmas. My 12 yr old daughter was looking at your pictures with me and has fell in LOVE with your doggies-they are adorable.. I have bounced around on blogs and found U. SO I will add U to my blogs I follow. Check my blog out too. I am just now starting..
I dont have any BIG PLANS on NEW Years Day really.I am sure I will be playing some of the new games my daughter, Kandis, got for Christmas-we are now addicted to Monopoly Deal. IT beats the board game big time. Then we have Bunco and Farkle. These should be a fun way to spend part of the day. BUT I do want to try this BLOG HOP that Pamela Young is doing on her blog http://pamelasworldofscrap.blogspot.com/ .. it will be my 1st and sounds like tons of fun.. if u havent already checked it out.. Make sure U do!! Of course i would LUV to get a couple scrapbook pages in on New Years Days too. SO I guess I just filled my day up. I am already tired just thinking about it all-hahaha
HOPE U and your family has a very blessed New Year.
thanks for the chance to win some scrapbooking stuff!!!! it would be a 1st for me!!!

Well, my plans involved red velvet cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory and some board games with friends but it’s snowing outside right now and our condo parking lot hasn’t been plowed, so… I might not even make it out of my pajamas today.
We shall see.

Totally a last minute comment here but…normally we end up at a neighbors house. We all kind of rotate who hosts, but this year i guess no one is in the mood. I guess that’s what happens when you get old! Ha Ha. Just kiddin but apparently it’s going to be a quiet one for us for the first time ever. Even our boys dissed us for parties elsewhere
Have a wonderful and safe New Years everyone!!
