A couple of things that some of you have either emailed, commented, or called me about:
TAAFOMFT posted a new challenge, and there are some yummy prizes up for grabs. Head on over to check out the latest challenge, your favorite friend. Stop on by the blog, and check out all the lovelies from the rest of the DT. I’d LOVE to see you all play along! This is what I came up with:
Some people have asked me how I created the flowers on this one. Here’s how:
- I misted a piece of plain white cardstock with a flower mask.
- When it was dry, I removed the flower mask , which left an imprint on the cardstock.
- Then I “colored” in the flowers with a clear liquid adhesive.
- Next, I sprinkled glitter onto the adhesive.
My local scrapbook store, Memories Live On, had their ScrapBlue event this weekend. There was LOTS of creativity going on at that crop! The Kiki Art make and takes I designed were fun, and people seemed to really like the finished product. They were creating a simple acrylic tag that can be used on gifts and what not.

My table to play and teach!

Cute little tags for gifts using misting techniques and new Kiki Art products!

All smiles at the make and take table.

Adding the finishing touches to the tag!

Deciding on the funtape was the hardest part!

Go girl, go! Use that funtape!
Holly and I goofing around at the event. Yes, we did WORK, and LOTS of it!
End result… Kiki Art was a huge hit. During the event, a lot of croppers went to the store to pick up some of the latest stuff! One of them actually asked me if it was okay to scraplift one of my layouts that I had brought as a display, hehe. I didn’t mind one bit.

She's scraplifting my WATER Rain layout! I found that so flattering!
I did it! Well… we did it! 50,000 views… and it was definitely before my birthday! Thank you to everyone who helped me reach my goal. I appreciate all of the comments and visits from everyone. Really, I do. I love to share my work, and I appreciate those of you who share your creativity and inspiration with me as well.
Honestly, I’m so grateful. As promised, there will be winners. Don’t worry; I didn’t forget! I just haven’t had the time to pick names, but I’ll get there this week.
Oh, and look what I got in the mail — a magazine with one of my layouts printed in it! Toot for me!

"Mommy's in this magazine. How come it's not a layout with me in it?!"
Stay tuned for tomorrow. I’ve got some Imaginisce news to share with everyone, and you are not going to want to miss it!
See you all very soon!

I’m almost done prepping all of the items that I need to bring to the crop event I’m attending this weekend. Phew! I’m doing a Kiki Art make and take for Memories Live On‘s ScrapBlue. If you’re going, then I will see you there. Otherwise, stay tuned for pictures; that is if I remember to shoot a couple shots here and there.
Speaking of Kiki Art, have you been checking out the blog!? It’s updated frequently with tons of inspiration, and you are going to LOVE what you see! Check it out! …and if you want to see more inspiration, join the Kiki Art forum! There’s a gallery with TONS of projects created by the design team.
I’d LOVE to see all of you on there… I’ll be waiting for you.
Recently, I finished another Kiki Art layout. Check this one out:
I love the quilted collage look for this one. It’s so clean and simple! …and the Kiki Art paper totally matches those photos; got to LOVE that, right?!
I played with some of my Urban Swank DT stash as well. I used the latest sketch from Sketchy Thursdays! It was an easy sketch to follow, so I had to play along.
Yesterday, I received my DT box from Imaginisce! I couldn’t help myself, so I got right to it. I created this layout for my friend, Jill. Her son is incredibly adorable, and I knew his precious face was going to work so well with the new line, Live Loud. I’ve got my fingers crossed that she likes this layout!
Oh, and if you want to hear my little snippet about some of Martha Stewart’s latest products, you’ll want to click here. No, I didn’t talk $*@! about her. Should I have?! haha…
Here are the cards that I created using her latest sparklies:

Okay, now I’m off because a box filled with TONS of Kiki Art was just dropped off at my front door. I need to package up those stuff for my fellow DT members. Girls, be patient… you’re going to get some new stuff real soon. I promise!
I’ll be back with photos from the weekend. Until then…

Every now and then, I get the eye and a brief lecture on how to tidy up my scraproom. Did I just say “scraproom”?! Are you joking me?! It’s more like our whole house is a scraproom, haha! Well, minus the kitchen. A girl can’t help the mess when this has become her full-time job! At this rate, a bigger place is sounding like a must.
I need space for cardstock. Then, I need space for the pretty patterned papers. And you can’t forget all of the embellishments, ribbon, punches, pens, alphas, tools, etc.! Oh, and I forgot to mention that I need room for scissors and paper trimmers. It’s a never ending list, I tell ya.
…so what do I do with all of those supplies? I create, of course!
These next two layouts were designed for my LSS, Memories Live On. They gave me some of the latest products from Sassafras Lass, and they requested me to make a couple of layouts for display. I LOVE the bright colors to these collections!
Layout #1: Yes, I used a MS punch… so sue me! I like EK Success punches, just so you know.
…and this layout is also a reminder that you only have a couple more days to get your project submitted in for the latest challenge over at TAAFOMFT. It’s all about your favorite memory.
By the way, that’s not real stitching; I used Kiki Art‘s funtape. It’s like no other decorative tape I’ve ever used! It doesn’t rub off, and it doesn’t rip when you try to use it! It’s a definite MUST-HAVE!
Layout #2: Scrapping the Music‘s current song is “Better Way” by Ben Harper. It’s one of Gloria’s favorites, so I had to give it a go. I used a line from the song as my inspiration to scrap this one. To top that, I made this layout in honor of Julie. What do ya think, Boss?!
After I finished making these layouts, I left a stack of Sassafrass Lass over there by the stack of Imaginisce, which is by the stack of Kiki Art, which is by my bind-it-all, which is by the Urban Swank stuff, which is by another stack of supplies that was given to me by my LSS to design with. See… I’m not joking about the supplies being all over the place! A bigger house is lurking its way towards the top of the priority list.
Anyway, I read this somewhere, and every time I get the eye or a lecture about tidying up the scrap stuff, this is going to be my excuse:
Creative minds are rarely tidy.
It can’t get any better than that.
I rest my case.

Have you ever started to create a project, and then for some reason you can’t find any inspiration to finish the darn thing!? Make me feel good, and please tell me that every one of you has done this!
A couple of weeks ago, Suzy West wanted me to crop with her and some other peeps over at another local scrapbook store, Scrapbook Territory. I agreed, and off we all went in Friday traffic to our little haven — the crop. At this crop, I started a mini album.
What the heck was I thinking?! Did I really think that at a crop I could get something done?!
Since the crop (two weeks ago), I swear that the mini album was calling my name from inside my tote.
Finish me, please. I’m waiting for pictures and embellishments.
It’s been a battle between me and that wretched mini album. However, I decided to conquer it, and I did just that.

En garde! Take that, you mini album!
I’m so happy that I finally had enough inspiration to finish this one. The base of the mini album is the latest from Punky Sprouts. I love that they have canvas and acrylic in their albums; it adds so much texture to your project!
The paper in this mini album is all courtesy of Nikki; she gave me some papers to play with at CHA. I believe it’s the Willow Bee line (Nikki’s DT gals, please correct me if I’m wrong).
On another note, it’s been raining nonstop for the past couple of days. I really don’t mind it, but it drives the dogs crazy! Need proof? Why, of course!

"It wasn't us. We didn't leave our pawprints everywhere!"

"I hate it when it rains, and I get all wet. Woof! It makes my nails look long. Woof! Then, you're going to trim them again! Woof, woof."

"I don't like you flying back in forth for work! Woof, woof! I miss you. Woof!"
See! The rain drives them completely bonkers. If they could, they’d fight the rain the way I procrastinated finishing that mini album! Speaking of mini album… why are all of you people here?! Are you reading my blog because you don’t want to finish that project?!
Uh huh! That’s what I thought.
Get back to work.

PS: Again, thank you to everyone for all of your kind words recently. It really puts a smile on my face.
You all inspire me to create with no regrets.
GO!
Can you tell that I’ve been watching the Olympics!?
Go, go, go! Oh, the places you’ll go… oops, I meant to write the layouts that’ll go!
I was on a major roll yesterday. On top of finishing all of the tasks on my to do list, I busted out the supplies, and got to it.
My friend, Michelle, sent me some photos to scrap, and I had a blast working with them. I’ve got my fingers crossed that she likes them.
This first layout I made for her was based on a sketch featured over at the Bo Bunny blog. Here’s the sketch that was posted:

Instead of using both pages, I just used the left side. Then, I mirrored that sketch. Here’s the layout that I came up with using some of the latest from Bo Bunny.
The second layout I created for Michelle was a fun to make. I played with one of the latest lines from We R Memory Keepers. Memories Live On, my local scrapbooks store, wanted me to work with this line for display, and I got right to it. I used a sketch over at PageMaps. I guess if you use this sketch, you could win the kit below…? Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

I used it on a 12×12 layout instead of an 8.5×11 one! …and I flipped the sketch too.
Thank you again, Michelle, for sending me photos to play with! I’m in the process of working with another one of your photos, but it might be a while because I’m waiting on specific paper for that one.
Lastly, I pulled out some of my older Collage Press and Sassafras stuff, and I played around with pictures of Hilo. He was trying to snuggle up next to me when I was relaxing on the couch, so I had inspiration to use him in a layout. I followed a sketch from Sassy Lil’ Sketches.

I flipped the sketch and altered it slightly. Here’s my take on their sketch:
Hopefully, I have inspired some of you to scrap, and if I haven’t make sure to look around you. There’s inspiration everywhere. Seriously, it’s right there… and there… and there… With that in mind, are you ready?
On your mark, get set, CREATE!
