I care about the future, and so should you. In our house, we are doing Earth Hour. Don’t know what that is? Well, let me pass on some information to  all of you:

Whether you are liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican, red or blue, none of the above, or all of the above, you should try to participate. You’ll be glad that you did.

All you have to do is TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS FOR AN HOUR at 8:30 pm (your local time), March 27th.

Really, the Earth will be thrilled that you did.

PS: Check back tomorrow for the Zutter blog hop! It’s going to be great! :)

One night at  Scrapbook Territory, the plans for Texas were being finalized! Suzy and I were so excited about the trip that we had our friend, Lonae, take some photos of us being crazy!  A couple of them turned out slightly blurry, but I still wanted to share them. They are too fun to not post! Here are a couple of pictures that were taken:

I thought these photos show off who we really are — CRAZY (and creative), of course! ;)

I finished a layout using some cute stuff from Jillibean Soup. The colors to these papers are totally screamin’ my name, wouldn’t you say?!

I’m not much of a stamper, but I decided to give it a go. Besides, my ink and stamp collection are feeling desolate nowadays. Here’s a card I created using The Girls’ Paperie leftovers and a Technique Tuesday stamp:

Ever since Gloria bought me this as a gift (perhaps because she was getting sick of finding glitter on the floor and on the dogs’ paws, hehe):

I have been playing with the messy good stuff – - glitter, flock, embossing powder, beads, etc. In the above card, I glittered the “thanks”. The glitter definitely added that extra flair that I was looking for!

Don’t forget that tomorrow, March 26th, the Zutter Zisters are hosting a blog hop! We will all be giving away some of the latest from CHA on each of our individual blogs, so don’t forget to head back here on Friday. :)

Lastly, does anybody have unwanted Legos lying around their house? I’ll be more than happy to take them off of your hands. I’ll buy them from you if you don’t want to give them away. …or does anyone know where I can find someone who is selling their lot of Legos for a decent price?

Please let me know.

I will catch you all later!

PS: For you. Oh, and a picture of the critters doing what they do best – being cute!

Have any of you seen this movie The Box?!

I just watched it, and I felt like I wasted a couple hours of my life! I couldn’t fall asleep, so I decided to pull out the portable DVD player and watch the darn movie. I can usually tolerate and appreciate horrible movies, but this is going on the list of movies that have wasted my life. I should have turned it off after the first half hour.

I’m not a big fan of the Twilight Saga, but I would have to say that Edward and Bella’s cheesy romance was more entertaining than The Box. Why the heck am I even writing about The Box?! I’m wasting precious time ranting about it, lol.

I got to it, and created a layout using a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. I loved the design to this one:

I came up with this layout using some of my Urban Swank stash:

For more details on this layout, head on over to the Urban Swank blog. …and yes, I did mist on this one! haha.

While I’m talking about sketches, I was so honored when Valerie and Lynn asked me to contribute to the Got Sketch? blog. Here’s the sketch I got to play with:

I created the following layout using some of the latest stuff from Sassafras Lass:

"Is that me?! Oh, it is me! Wahoooo!"

I tried to use a handful of my brad stash. I’m always trying to find different ways to use up my brads and eyelets. It’s like no matter how many I use, the stash doesn’t diminish!

Anyway, head on over to Got Sketch? to see my debut appearance over there. While checking it out, feel free to leave me some love. :)

Now, it’s time to get back to work. I’ve got some class projects I need to start designing for an upcoming class.

I didn’t think that I could ever top my 2009, but 2010 has been so kind to me. It’s like all of my dreams and fantasies are coming true. Plans are still in the works, so I have to keep hush hush until then. However, I can’t wait to share some of the exciting endeavors in my future. Hopefully, by the end of the year, I’ll be able to share. ;)

I do have some scrappy stuff to share today, though.

Punky Sprouts is a new manufacturer that debuted this past winter CHA. They sell various albums that are filled with chipboard, canvas, and acrylic. Suzy, their lead designer, is teaching a couple of classes at one of The Great American Scrapbook Conventions. The owners of Punky Sprouts (Shelly and Doralisa), thought it would be fun if I came along to help Suzy teach her classes. Texas, here I come!

If you are in the Texas area, take Suzy‘s class because I’ll be there helping her teach! I’d LOVE to meet up with some of you!

Punky Sprouts has teamed up with Pink Paislee and Tattered Angels for this mini album class:

It’s the latest Queen Bee line from Pink Paislee, and you don’t want to miss this class! I saw her working on this one, and it’s GORGEOUS in person!

The other Punky Spouts class that Suzy is teaching is sponsored by Crate Paper and Tattered Angels. Fun stuff, don’t you think?!

Isn’t that cute?! I love the colors to this one. This class is going to be so much fun!

On another note, if you haven’t heard, this week Imaginisce swapped products with Tombow. Tombow was beyond generous, and they sent the Imaginisce design team loads of products to use! :)

I played with their Metal Liquid Glue!

I, of course, opted to use some of the Live Loud collection from Imaginisce. The metal liquid glue is NO JOKE! Have you ever tried to get your paper to stay put?! Well, my paper is completely stuck to the tin box.

Wouldn’t this project make for a cute way to give away a gift card?! …or if you are willing to dish out the money, how about a new iPod inside the tin?! ;)

Combining Imaginisce and Tombow equals ENDLESS possibilities! For more projects, make sure to hit up both manufacturer blogs. There is a ton of inspiration being shared!

I’ll be updating with more of the latest I have been working on, but in the meantime, here are some sneaks:

Oh, and I almost forget! I have a winner to the last Wacky Wednesday! :) Seriously, you guys are super crazy creative when it comes to making up stories about scrapbooking and Martha! LOL. It is thoroughly entertaining to read what you all conjugate into a story. …and the winner is:

Yay! Your name was finally randomly picked. Look for some goodies in the mail, Miss Julie!

I’ll catch you all later!

I just want to start off by saying that my birthday week was exhausting but incredibly fun and eventful. This past week has me beat, so now I’m trying to recuperate before my schedule gets hectic. These next couple of months are BUSY BUSY BUSY.

On my birthday, we went to the California Academy of Sciences. I’ve been wanting to go since they reopened it a over a year ago, and what better day to visit than my birthday?!

The aquarium is phenomenal! Why?! Well, the museum grew their own coral reef colonies, meaning they didn’t rip anything out of the ocean! If you know me, I’m all for conserving our oceans. …and in case you didn’t know, coral takes years to grow.

Inside the facility, there’s a rainforest abundant with creatures and plants. It’s a fairly accurate portrayal of what the rainforest is like. The temperature inside is definitely comparable to an actual rainforest’s humidity.

There are tons of other cool exhibits to check out like the Living Roof. The roof acts as a natural insulator for the building, so it save tons of energy.

After lunch in the museum cafe, we aimlessly explored the city roads. There’s always something about not having an agenda that makes life that much better. :) Completely exhausted from the days’ events, we headed back home and contemplated on dinner options.

Il Postale made the cut. We had never been there before, but we figured living on the edge can be a good thing every now and then. ;)

Yup, you guessed it – - I got the vegetarian option!

The weather was perfect, and dining out on the patio felt so relaxing. …and although Gloria didn’t enjoy her Bolognese Pasta Dinner, I thoroughly enjoyed my plate. However, what was I thinking when I refused wine?! ;)

…and it wouldn’t be a birthday without dessert! Here’s my mini DELICIOUS cake from one of my favorite places, Whole Foods:

…and a cupcake just for moi! I was too stuffed to eat it, so I saved it for the following day. :)

On Friday, I had another eventful day. I was not planning on attending the Scrapbook Expo that was in town, but I ended up going to pick up some great deals on adhesive. A scrapbooker can never have too much adhesive, right?!

Before entering the expo, I decided to fill out one of those Win a Getaway forms just for fun. I NEVER win, but I thought I would press my luck because it was my birthday weekend. Just by filling out a form, I was given another chance to win. The lady at the booth says to me, “Pick a number 1-36″. I pick #22. She spins a wheel, and guess what?! It lands on #22.

I WON a free getaway for two! Can you believe that?! …so now I’ve got another vacation to plan! Talk about a GREAT birthday weekend!

While I was there, a local gal from scrapbook.com contacted me to meet up. I believe she knew me through Heather, so she called my cell, and I’m glad she did. It was so good to meet you, Nancy, and thanks so much for helping me find my adhesive and bling!

Right after the expo, I headed to Suzy‘s house. I swear it has become a weekly ritual for us to go to Scrapbook Territory, but I honestly don’t mind because I tend to get stuff done over there. Anyway, Suzy made me (and everyone else at the crop) fudge to celebrate my birthday! Mmmmm… :) Fudge, friends, and scrapbooking?! I don’t think it can get any better than that!

Saturday and Sunday was filled with family time and SHOPPING! ;) I got some of the cutest headbands to match one of my awesome birthday presents.

I’ve been wanting this Scottie print from Dooney & Bourke since I first saw it! Low and behold, it was a birthday present! I’m definitely a Dooney & Bourke and Kate Spade fan, so I was definitely excited to add to my collection. :) ((Deana, you are seriously a horrible influence — in a good way, of course!))

As for scrapbook updates, I’ll save that for my next post. I’ve been keeping something majorly exciting, and I can’t wait to share the news with everyone very soon!

Oh, and before I forget… there’s a Zutter blog hop at the end of this week, so stay tuned! There are tons of ways to win some SCRUMPTIOUS prizes, so make sure to check back for more details.

…and again, I have to reiterate how thankful I am for all of the birthday wishes. Thanks for making it so wonderful! :)

PS: Jessi, I love the photos you sent me. You are so clever to ask me to help you pick photos, hehe. I’m going to frame them this week! They are definitely going in my scraproom. :)
