I’m so glad it’s Wednesday because this weekend is gonna be loads of fun. We are going to have our annual get together for the 4th of July. Family, yummy barbecue, and fireworks makes for a fantabulous time!
In the meantime, I’ve been doing what I do best – - CREATING!
One of my good friends, Michelle, sent me a package filled with Creative Imaginations, and I finally got around to designing with these fun papers. I used one of their sketches for inspiration.
Here’s my rendition of the above sketch:

I love the bright summer colors to that line! Don’t you?! …and because I’ve got leftovers, I plan on creating more with this paper line. ((Thank you again, Michelle, for sending me all of these goodies. I had a lot of fun designing with them.))
It’s true. I’m addicted to the Pazzles. I’ve been using it like no other in my projects; I’m sure you have noticed how much I’ve been talking about it recently! Well, I used it again. I created a layout using some older Crate Paper that I had been hoarding, haha!

I used the Pazzles to cut out my letters and those fun little flower-like diecuts that I turned into weird one-eyed aliens. To make those cute little aliens, just add some of those craft eyes to the center of flowers.

When I finished this layout, I busted up laughing. Who would have thought that flowers make for great aliens?! Not me – that’s for sure!
The month of July is one of the busiest months for me, so the next couple of weeks are going to be crazy (and super fun)! Until then, I plan on working ahead. I will start off by cropping at Scrapbook Depot this afternoon. Hopefully, I’ll get some work done… that is if I don’t socialize too much.
Only a couple more days until the weekend.

I claim that I’m hooked on paper, and That Scrappy Girl knew about my paper craze. Thus, she decided to send me some Pink Paislee to design with. The colors are in my playing field, so I had tons of fun playing with the 365 Degrees paper line.

I’ve got more layouts using these papers, which I plan on sharing later this week.
I claim that I’ve been using rub-ons more frequently. I never jumped on the bandwagon when they were big, but now I’m enjoying the versatility that they offer. I added a Jenni Bowlin rub-on to the back of one of those cute Maya Road envelopes, and then, I added an embellishment! …so if you are looking to create a quick and easy card, try using some of the rub-ons in your stash.
I claim that Maui and Hilo are the cutest little pooches I have ever seen. Okay, so sometimes they can drive me crazy with their wrestling all over the just-made bed, and they can be beyond frustrating when they get dirty right after they get bathed. However, their cuteness factor wins me over every time! On top of their adorable faces, they’re so gentle and loving.

I claim a winner to the $60 CSN gift certificate. The random pick chooses…

Alyssa. Congratulations! Please shoot me an email at redoaklines@gmail.com to claim your prize! Thank you to everyone else who participated in the CSN Lighting giveaway.
I claim that I will post either tonight or tomorrow (hopefully, hehe.) How do people blog more than once a day?! I wish I could document my life that much, but I feel like I run out of stuff to share. What do you think I should write about?! Hmm…

I claim that I’m beautiful. Wait, I meant to say gorgeous. There, I said it. Are you happy?! ((Did I really just write that?! HAHA.))
For some reason, I have “California Gurls” stuck in my head. It’s not one of my favorite songs, but it’s catchy. Hence, I’ve got it on repeat in my head.
I may have heard it yesterday when we were out in the city celebrating one of San Francisco’s craziest and biggest celebrations, Pride Parade. It’s colorful and over-the-top, but more importantly, it’s major fun. Anyway, here are some fun pictures from this weekend’s event:

“You can’t always win!” That’s what my parents used to tell me when I was a little girl. Why did I try to compete with my older brother when I was bound to lose? However, with every loss, I truly believe that there is something to gain.
The USA soccer team was eliminated from the World Cup today. It was definitely a disappointment in our household, but like I said, there are positive sides to their loss. The players gained experience from playing in a jaw-clinching game. I also know that Little Man has gained tons of experience from watching soccer games these past couple of weeks.
Gloria bought Hilo his own soccer ball (the children sized one) because he always wants to play when he sees us playing soccer. The ball is durable, and surprisingly, there are no punctures yet – just excessive teeth marks!

As a matter of fact, he’s really good at being a goalie for Mommy. He can stop the ball with his foot, and he can even headbutt it! I think it’s so cute that we’ve got ourselves our very own Schnauzer soccer star.
Maui, on the other hand, likes to sit around and look pretty. Hmm, I wonder where she learned how to do that, haha.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t teach her that, hehe.

Isn’t Maui’s soccer portrait adorable?! Strike a pose! It was as if she wanted us to snap a photo of her sitting with Hilo’s soccer ball. I’ll consider this picture a winner!
Speaking of winning and losing, I have succumbed to Gloria’s new hobby – - building structures with Legos. At first I wasn’t too keen about the idea of Legos all over the place (I shouldn’t complain because I have paper and embellishments everywhere, haha). …but it’s really neat to see how creative one can get with blocks. Here are a couple of photos I snapped of her latest creation:

…and because Legos were allowed, Gloria caved in to my desire to visit the Winchester Mystery House. Have you ever heard of this place?! Supposedly, it’s one of the nation’s most haunted places. It’s been featured on various TV shows for all of its acclaimed supernatural activity.
When we got there, Gloria was still hesitant to take the tour of the house. I, on the other hand, was excited to explore this Victorian mansion.

No, I didn’t see, hear, or feel anything supernatural. However, many local people have shared various stories of the supernatural. I have to admit that even though I did not witness anything, it was definitely a spooky place to be. I consider myself defeated at that place. S-C-A-R-Y!
Lastly, I have picked a random winner for the Zutter baby blog hop! Come on down…

Congrats! Please send an email to redoaklines@gmail.com with your information, so I can have Zutter send out your prize.
That’s all for today. I should be out and about at the clubs shakin’ my thang with friends, but I decided not to hit up the city. I think I’m getting old because I prefer to stay at home, haha! Do I sense defeat?! Should I hang my head down in shame?!
Night out in the city (1) – Sarah (0)
Okay, okay… I won’t say anything because I am feeling the glares from some of you.
In my opinion, I think I won because I don’t have to deal with lots of annoying people pushing and shoving me around at the bars/clubs.

Do you ever randomly feel artistic and inspired?! Today was one of those days. I feel rejuvenated and motivated to create. I’m not quite sure what the deal is, but hey, I’m not complaining!
I worked with the Birthday Bash line from Imaginisce, again. Because I was in the mood to be artistic, I brought out my Tattered Angels stash. I definitely had fun misting and masking.
…and I even went star happy with a layout about my little cousin! Isn’t she adorable?! I love the bright colors mixed with that subtle gray background; it makes for a great color scheme.

Last but not least, I was inspired to change things around on my blog. I wanted a simple, summery look. What do you think of the new layout?!
…and who’s ready for the weekend?! I am!
