listening: At this very second, I’m listening to the music on TV. Currently, the Miss Universe Pageant is on, so I’m listening to John Legend play for the evening gown competition.
eating: I’m not eating anything at this very moment, but the last thing I did eat was an egg salad sandwich, which was delicious by the way.
drinking: I’m not drinking anything at this very moment either. However, I do have a glass of ice water sitting on the table right next to me. Water does a body good. ![]()
wearing: I’m wearing comfy sleeping clothes, boxers and a Bella Blvd shirt I got at CHA.
feeling: Right now, I’m feeling impatient! I wish this week would go by faster. This would be one of the only instances where I want time to go faster!
weather: Today was hotter than usual. Recently, it’s been beautiful weather, but today was HOT. ARGH! …and it didn’t help that Hilo wanted to cuddle up next to me.
wanting: I really want Thursday to be tomorrow. I know it’s not going to happen, but one can always dream. Oh, and wanting a vacation abroad would be nice too!
needing: I need to continue the planning for a wedding. Seriously, is there an easier way to plan a wedding?!
thinking: I’m thinking about this weekend, and how awesome it’s going to be!
enjoying: I thoroughly enjoy my job. Being creative on a daily basis is definitely enjoyable, don’t you think?!
wondering: I wonder if I’ll finish everything on my “to do” list tomorrow. I’ve got my fingers crossed that I do.
Yeah, so that is what’s currently in my head. What’s in yours?

PS: …and just so you know, I’m not really into pageants or anything. I ended up changing the channel to watch the Discovery Channel right after the evening gown competition, hehe.
This past weekend, we had a friend visit from Toronto, so I’ve been absent from blogging. We all had a great and productive couple of days, and Maui and Hilo seemed to love the extra attention, hehe. We thought it would be fun to spend time at the beach. …so we packed up for the day, the dogs hopped into the car, and off we went. Hilo was ready to go before we even finished loading the car, haha!

The weather was absolutely gorgeous, so we decided to dine at one of our favorite places, Kelly’s French Bakery. Not only is their food UH-MAZING, but their outdoor dining area is a fun place to be! I thoroughly enjoyed lunch. Here was my delicious chicken sandwich:

Afterwards, we went on short hikes along the coast. Maui and Hilo definitely enjoyed the outdoor time. Can you tell?! …and don’t you just love how pretty the ocean is?! It’s so blue (and clean). I’m hoping that it always stays that way.

California is amazingly beautiful. If you haven’t visited my neck of the woods, you should definitely head on out here!
On another note, I had the time to play in the scraproom this morning.
Remember that it’s always okay to scrapbook about yourself. Your dreams and goals are all valid stuff to work with. I promise that in the future you’ll be glad that you documented it. I’m glad that I did.
My first layout features a fun way to journal – create a list of some of your dreams. I worked with the first Dear Lizzy line from American Crafts. The chipboard shapes are one of my favorite additions to this line. Although small, they add a lot of pizazz to your project.

My second layout is about why I love to scrapbook. It has become a major part of my life, so I had to create a layout about my love for this craft. To see how I used stamps to create my own patterned paper using August’s kit from The Sampler, check out my post here.

Last but not least, I have a winner to the Technique Tuesday kit. …and the winner to the Lovey Dovey giveaway is:

Email me via the contact page, and I will get your prize out to you as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone else for playing along.
Happy Monday!

I’m not one to say “aww” or “how sweet” when someone tries to sweep me off my feet. Honestly, I have never been into the sappy stuff. I hardly cry over romantic movies, and I definitely don’t tear up over it. Every now and then, I like the lovey dovey things, but trust me, it’s not very often. Thus, you hardly see me scrapbook love themed layouts. It’s just not my thing.
However, I challenged myself to give the lovey dovey a try.
Here’s a layout about my brother and his girlfriend:

Have you seen that paper before?! If not, then you should pick up a copy of Issue #47 of Scrapbook Magazine because they’ve got a free set of exclusive papers from American Crafts. Also, did you notice how I used the “all you need is love” sticker from SRM above my photos? I think it adds a great touch to my page! (Thanks again, Deana!)
Okay, enough of the lovey dovey, haha! …so I finished one layout, and that was it. So much for a challenge, right?!
Instead, I wanted to share a layout that I finished at Scrapbook Depot yesterday at our monthly crop. This layout features the August kit from My Paper Tree House. It’s loaded with some fun stuff to work with, so if you haven’t already, make sure to pick up yours today!

Does it count that I scrapped about how I’m lovey dovey over going to the beach?!
…so what lovey dovey things sweep you off your feet? What’s romantic to you? What makes you swoon?
Let me know in a comment, and I’ll enter your name into a drawing for a Technique Tuesday kit! Everything to make the layout below will be included in the kit, including the stamps and ink pads.

You have until Sunday, August 22nd to play along!
For an additional entry into the drawing, share the giveaway somewhere else online OR subscribe to my blog via email (on the left sidebar). Please make sure to let me know if you did either or both, so I know to include your additional entries when I draw a winner.

If you just read the title of my post and thought… “Who are you talking about?! Are you talking about me?” …then you are guilty of assuming.
With all of the technology in today’s society, some social aspects have deteriorated. I’m not saying that people don’t know how to amiably approach others. I’m saying that people misunderstand thoughts and ideas via technology.
When I say something similar to “so frustrating” as my Facebook status, more than likely, I’m not talking about you. I’m probably referring to the loud and annoying children in the neighborhood. …or if you catch something like “ARGH! so lame.” as my away message, it’s because I’m probably peeved at the lines at the post office. If I comment after you in a thread with my thoughts, I’m not counteracting what was previously stated (unless, of course, it’s something that needs to be addressed, haha).
In a nutshell, we should all stop assuming that everything is a personal attack. Seriously… it’s just a comment, simple text message, email, blog title, etc.
Don’t take things so seriously. Life is too short to waste your time with misunderstandings.
I’m curious to know what you think.

I got to spend time in my scrap room today! After the food poisoning incident over the weekend, I spent most of Monday in bed, so my creating time was a must.
I was finally able to play with the just released August kit from My Paper Tree House, and I have to admit that this month’s kit is my favorite thus far. Seriously, it’s super cute and filled with tons of the latest from Echo Park Paper! Also, there’s an exclusive Sketchy Thursdays sketch for everyone to use over at the MPTH blog (use it, share it with us, and you could win a free kit).

I like that I did not stray too much on this one. Here’s my layout based on the above sketch:

…and did you know that every MPTH kit has an exclusive handmade piece to it? Check out the cute paper clip that completed my layout:

Aren’t the pieces to this kit drool-worthy!? I’m loving the overload of pretty colors! If you aren’t subscribed to get one of these scrumptious kits, you should consider picking one up soon. The past two months’ kits were both hits, so they sold it quickly!
Oh, and just so you know, there’s an irock giveaway going on over at Imaginisce. The new tool has been a major hit, and it has sold out in stores across the nation. Try to snag yours while you can; click here for your chance to win.

…and I couldn’t post without sharing this adorable picture of Maui. Isn’t her “smile” cute?!

Smile at least once today. It’ll make your day so much better.

PS: I got another happy email today.
