Last Friday, we decided it would be a fun day to check out the San Francisco Zoo. I don’t remember my first visit here, so it was basically like seeing it for the first time. My cousin had never been before, so it was definitely a fun experience for her. For being a smaller zoo, I thought it was simply average, but then again, I might just be biased because I went to the San Diego Zoo a few years ago.
Checking out their variety of creatures was educational though. As a matter of fact, I learned a handful of random facts that I found to be very interesting.
Here are just a handful of the photos that we took:
We spent close to five hours exploring all of the exhibits, and by the end of the day, each of us learned tons of new facts about the creatures in the zoo. If you’re in the area, take advantage of this place. Besides, admission fees go back to protecting these animals.
Happy Monday!

From here on out, the shop will probably host its summer carnival. With all of the last minute sign-ups, we were able to host a fun little event that showcased our teachers’ creative talents. Everyone seemed to have had a wonderful time; I, for one, know that I had a fantastic time. Check out some of the photos from the event below:

Make sure to look for details at the shop next summer if you want to come create beautiful projects with our wonderful teachers.
Every summer, my little cousin comes to stay with us for a week. It’s not only fun for her, but it’s fun for us too! We make it a tradition to take her out on random adventures to explore and see new places. Today, we decided to head out to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It’s always such a fun place to hang out; it brings you back to your childhood years, especially when there are food stands with cotton candy, corn dogs, and funnel cakes just to name a few. Here are some memories from today:

It’s just the beginning of the week, so who knows where we’ll visit next. I just know that I can’t wait!
Oh, and just so you know, there’s a layout contest going on over here. The deadline for it has been extended to July 29th. Here’s my take:

It was fun making that layout because I don’t make as many as I used to. I really need to get back on the scrap bandwagon. Mojo, where have you gone?! Has all my mojo been aimed towards working on my Project Life stuff?!
I hope not.
Anyway, that’s it for now.

Summer has its perks. Aside from sunbathing, the warm weather allows for more outside time. We’ve been gardening a lot recently. I’m super excited about the different kinds of lettuce that we planted. Now, we can make a fresh salad with my favorite kind of tomato, cherry tomatoes! Here’s a snippet of some of the things we’ve been growing:

I’m excited that our Eversweet strawberries are in bloom; can’t wait for all the sweetness it’ll produce. I know what I’ll be snacking on throughout the year. That’s the best part about Eversweet strawberries; they grow all year round.
As far as as the desert botanical area, it’s looking mighty awesome. We need to finish up the big vertical gardens, but we’re still figuring out what we want to plant in those. Aside from that, I think we have more than enough succulents. Here are some random snapshots:

On top of playing outside, there’s always time to make stuff for inside the home. Our house is looking super green like a rain forest, hehe! Here are some random pictures of the stuff we have on our mantle and media console:

I was asked to do a floral demonstration for about 75-80 people, and so I was required to design a handful of arrangments. Here’s just a few of the ones I made for them:

Last but not least, the dogs have been keeping me extra busy. They think that just because it’s warm outside, they can bug me moreso than they do other times of the year.

…but alas, they’re dogs, and I love them for their annoying tendencies.

I admit. I have been hoarding all of these Project Life things. I have a scrapbook album all set to go, and I even ordered the Project Life protector sheets months ago. Have I even started to create anything for it?! No!
I do, however, like that the Instagram app on my phone helps my daily photo documenting. Recently, I’ve been taking pictures galore, so I have a stack of photos to use. Woot! *pat on the back for me* I just ordered all of my photos, so once I have them in my hands, maybe I’ll get them onto Project Life pages. *wishful thinking*

Speaking of printing pictures, I still need to work on the wedding album. It’s on my list of 29 before 29, and it’s one of the more obtainable tasks. You’d think that I like letting the stacks of photos pile up.
On another note, it’s been so long since I last posted any of the projects I have been working on. Thus, I wanted to share some of the bright projects I have created for the shop.
Below is a fun layout I created using Splash, some of the latest from Little Yellow Bicycle:

Have you seen the new American Crafts line, Shoreline?! We all know that I love bright and happy colors. Again, I absolutely love vintage things, but sometimes, it’s just overkill. Every now and then, it’s great to have pops of vibrant and rich colors. Consider it a change of scenery from the vintage inspired looks. For instance, here’s a makeshift paper bouquet that I created for the shop:

Hope everyone had a wonderful fourth of July! It was the first time in years that we didn’t celebrate our annual FOTL event at my parents’ house. Hopefully, next year we’ll be able to coordinate the event again.
