It’s been a while since I had the opportunity to design for a kit club, so when I was asked to design with January’s kit from the Sampler Kit Club, I knew it was going to be fun. Having matching papers and coordinating embellishments makes it that much easier to work with.
I love that the kit club releases sketches every month for inspiration. Here is January’s sketch courtesy of Holly:

Definitely a great time at the show! There were a lot of goodies that I know I’ll be hoarding once I get my hands on them, hehe.
It’s been such a long, long time since the last time I played along with a challenge or followed a sketch. It’s probably been over a year or so since I took a stab at it. Anyway, my friend, Holly, came up to the shop for a visit and inspired me. She convinced me to use the sketch from her kit club, The Sampler.

I was surprised at how quickly I created this 8.5×11 layout. Perhaps it’s a sign I should get back into actually scrapbooking for fun, huh? *Oh, how I miss that life.* Alas, c’est la vie. I decided that it was about time for me to use some happy colors in my projects, and I did just that. I was super excited that a shipment of Imaginisce goodies came in the mail today. Look at how cute the Geek Is Chic collection is:
I, of course, had to do a layout about my new glasses, haha! 
Geeky paper with my geeky face — it’s absolutely perfect! I’m also thrilled that this American Crafts‘ Thickers set has an “@” symbol. I used it as an “A” in my banner instead.
I hadn’t played along with any challenges recently, so I though that this Bo Bunny sketch challenge would be fun to do:

I cut up the fun and bright, Ad Lib collection. …and with the leftover scraps from the above layout, I made two cards. Thus, I’ve decided to turn it into a class over at the store. If you’re local and interested in taking this “One 12×12 Layout, Two Cards” class, find all of the details over here.
…and that’s all the creativity I have for today. I plan on working on another layout before the day ends.
On another note, I love that the summertime has more hours of daylight. I get off work, and the sun’s still out. Woot, woot! After work today, I plan to do some grocery shopping. …and if I’m up for it, I’ll go hit up the gym. I know I shouldn’t overdo it because I’m still recovering from last week’s incident, but being sedentary drives me nuts.
PS: I love Thursdays; wish it was “tomorrow” already.
Friday night started off great — fun and productive crop night, a wonderful Thai dinner with friends, and a wonderful time relaxing in a warm house. Then, I went to try an outfit on, and my painful wrist contorted. It hurt so bad, but I thought I’d ice it and just sleep through the pain. Of course, I was in and out of sleep due to the pain. 
On Saturday morning, I couldn’t move my wrist at all, so I decided urgent care would be best. Apparently, I have something very specific – it’s called deQuervain’s tendonitis.
…and let me tell you that it’s been so mean to me! I still need to call the orthopedic doctor, but I might have to end up having surgery for it. What the hecks?! No! My poor hand/wrist needs to scrapbook, hehe! Doesn’t my wrist realize that I have tons of projects to do before CHA at the end of this month?! HAHA!
Anyway, this is gonna be a quick post because I’m not supposed to be typing very much. …so I wanted to share a layout I created for the store. Deana let me use one of her family photos for this cute new line I picked up for the store. ((Thanks, Deana, for letting me use that photo. It was totally perfect for that paper.)) I love the metal plates on this one. They’re GORGEOUS! Hopefully, I’ll get around to sharing this layout with all of you soon!
I also got around to playing with some new products from a few different manufacturers for CHA, and it’s totally drool-worthy stuff! I can’t share my projects just yet, but you are all going to LOVE what’s going to be released. I plan on buying all of it for the store, so the local peeps will definitely be seeing soon.
I can’t wait to share all of the mad creating I have been working on. It’s some FUN, FUN, FUN stuff!
I’m still breathing; I promise. …but when was the last time I was able to take a nice long breath?! It must have been before I decided to open a store in the Bay. No, I’m not complaining! 
I’m just saying that I feel so blessed with how everything has been since I opened my doors. Lots of new (and familiar) faces have been keeping me on my toes.
Anyway… last night, Hambly hosted their Holiday Open House event. It was a blast! Tons of people enjoyed the seasonal festivities. My store, Our Paper Place, was present at the event, and I came out to teach a really cute make-n-take, which by the way was a hit! For those of you who missed it, I will be teaching it at the store at our Holiday “Grand Opening” on December 18th. There will be a limited amount of banners, so make sure to get there earlier in the day! Afterwards, Suzy, Holly, and I went out to “celebrate” my store opening for the 129480923867th time. ((Good time, girls!))

I’m back to teaching my sketch class in January except this time I’ll be over at my store. We’ll be working with one of Becky’s Pagemaps! Details on this one will be posted soon, so stay tuned. I went Pink Paislee happy on this one.
