((No, I am not going to share my big and exciting news yet. Nice try, though! I’m hoping to share within the next couple of days, so check back soon.))

I just wanted to share more of the show samples that have been keeping my busy. Here’s one more layout to add to the few from yesterday:

…and can you believe that I finished four cards from scraps?! I have no idea how I managed to do that.

Hopefully, I have created enough samples to add to the booth. Otherwise, I’ll be up late tonight, and that is not something I’m looking forward to.

Last but not least, I got an email today that requested that I post photos of my babies. I didn’t realize it had been weeks since the last time I shared pictures of them. Without further ado, here are my crazy kids:

When I see their cuddly faces, I can’t help but smile. I love them to pieces…

(even when Hilo accidentally punctures my finger).

No, it wasn’t his fault. No, he is not a violent and aggressive dog. It was actually my wrongdoing. I was playing tug-o-war with Maui, and Hilo wanted to play. He decided to join in on the fun by clenching down on the frisbee. Too bad that he bit down on one of my fingers instead. YOWCH!

Let’s hope that it heals up fast. A girl’s gotta scrap, ya know?! ;)

I’m always jealous of people who live in coastal cities. Unfortunately, I don’t live on the coast, but I’m fairly close to it. It takes about thirty minutes or so to get to the ocean, so I’m not complaining. ;) A short drive is good enough for me.

Monday and Tuesday nights in August are $1.00 nights at the Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, so my brother decides, “Hey! Let’s all go to Santa Cruz!” …and we did just that. Oh, the memories of carnival/amusement park food – hot dogs, garlic fries, and all the stuff that makes your teeth rot, lol!

That following day we headed to Monterey, which is a little bit further than Santa Cruz but completely worth the drive. Scott hadn’t been to the aquarium in years, so we thought we’d take him as an early birthday present. Have you ever been to this aquarium?! If you haven’t, I suggest you make it at least once in your lifetime. Don’t believe me?! Here are some photos to prove its worthiness:

We definitely had a field day at the aquarium. By far, my favorite exhibit is still the seahorses. They’re so unique! …and yes, the jellyfish are amazingly gorgeous; that is, when they are enclosed in the aquarium and not drifting next to you when you’re playing in the ocean. ;)

Yesterday, I spent the night cropping at my local scrapbook store. We had a small “sample party,” which means we worked overtime making samples of products that are going to be displayed at the scrapbook expo this upcoming weekend. In three hours, I created three layouts and three cards. Phew! I’m exhausted just reading that!

For every layout, I created a card. It’s true what they say, “Scraps are great for cards!”

Now, I need to get back to creating more samples before I have to start kitting for my class this weekend. I plan on creating a few more layouts and a handful of cards and mini albums. Wish me luck that I get these done before the end of today.

Happy Thursday!

Yeah, yeah… Just because I spent the majority of my weekend with paper, does not mean that you can poke fun at me. ;) As a matter of fact, it was some great times with friends! What’s even better is that I got a lot done!

Friday, I finished a mini album sample for Punky Sprouts. I was asked to play with Surf’s Up by Best Creations, and if you haven’t seen it before, you are going to love the glitter to these papers. They look great! When I started this mini album, I didn’t have any photos to work with, so Suzy gave me some of her beach photos.

Can you believe that I actually finished a mini album at a crop!? …but then again, I was there until a little past midnight, haha!

Early Saturday morning, I was forced to wake up and head on over to Suzy‘s place. We needed to leave early for the Kick Off Crop at the grand opening of Art Inspired Studios! It was a drive, but we made it early to help set up. The store looks AMAZING! It’s beautiful, and I’m so happy for Diana and Patti. ((Congratulations, girls!))

I got around to finishing the mini album that I will be teaching at their store at the beginning of August. It features Echo Park Paper and Zutter. If you like what you see, I hope to see some of you there!

Remember These Moments of Love. Saturday, August 7th @ 2 – 4 pm. $25, everything included.

Cute mini album, right?! :)   The colors to these papers are so bright and fresh, and it’s great for all those summer photos! …and no, it’s not just limited to using pet photos!

As for the Kickoff Crop, it was a blast! Great company, awesome store, and a Canon rep?! It can’t get any better than that. Gina, a Canon representative, came to the store, and she allowed us to print photos of all sizes for free! I went picture happy, and I stocked up on photos, hehe. Anyway, here are some photos from the event:

I told you it was a GORGEOUS store! If you are in the Brentwood area, make sure to head on over there. They have tons of new product that you are all going to LOVE. Besides, supporting local scrapbook stores helps the industry in more ways than you know. You always hear about stores shutting down, but you hardly hear about them opening up. Shop local to prevent stores from having to close their doors.

See! I told y’all it was a productive fun-filled paper weekend. I even finished a couple of layouts, which I’ll save for a future post.

…and I picked a random winner to a Punky Sprouts book.

Congrats, karin! You’re gonna have a lot of fun designing  with this one. Email me at redoaklines@gmail.com to claim your prize.

Happy Sunday!

PS: Who’s watching the World Cup?! If you are, who are you cheering for?!

Oh, and last night I got another email requesting for one of my projects to be published in an upcoming magazine! I can’t wait to see that one in print too.

I went on a date this past weekend — with paper. LOL. Yeah, I know… pretty pathetic, huh?! Well, who cares?! I surely don’t because I got my creative side on. I made sure that I finished designing a mini album for the class I’m teaching. Once I get the “okay” to share all the details, I’ll make sure to post pictures of it.

I also finished a couple of layouts and a mini album for Memories Live On, one of the local scrapbook stores in my area. It’s so awesome that I get to create stuff to display in a store for others to look at for inspiration. :)

My first layout for the store was created using this week’s sketch over at Pink Sketches. It has the latest paper from Best Creations, Inc.

Baseball

Another layout using the latest from Best Creations, Inc. was made for my local scrapbook store. I entitled it “Sweet Pups” because Scrapfreak is hosting a challenge to create a layout using the word “sweet” in your title. …and can you believe it?! I finished a double page layout!! My first one in over a year! LOL. Check it out:

out-for-publication

I also finished a project to display in the scrapbook store. I made another Christmas mini album. This time, however, I used one of the latest lines from Little Yellow Bicycle, which I totally love because the paper packs are cut to match the acrylic and chipboard pieces to the albums.

…and here’s a layout I finished just for fun using up some of my Fancy Pants Designs scraps:

Oh, and before I forget –  tomorrow starts the OZZ (Original Zutter Zisters) Blog Hop! There are some awesome prizes up for grabs and tons of inspiration to look at, so make sure to stop by the Bind It All blog. I promise that you’re gonna love it! :)

Okay, enough scrappity scraps for today. How about I leave you with some photos I shot of Maui and Hilo this weekend?!

"MUHAHA!! I'm the coolest dog in town!"
