Last night, I could not fall asleep. Yes, I tried counting sheep, but at around 2:30 in the morning, I was still wide awake. I figure I’d write a post to keep me from feeling like an insomniac, but I was having major writer’s block. I was as if my fingers came to a standstill on the keys.

Anyway, Friday was a WONDERFUL day. The weather was nice, and it really started to feel like spring. Gloria thought it would be fun to enjoy the warm weather, and we did just that.

I thought it would be fun if went out to grab some lunch and then do some SHOPPING! …and that’s basically what we did. We didn’t stay out too long because we both had to go home and work.

Saturday’s plans were TIRING. I started my day off by hitting up the post office; I am there so often that the post office workers know me, haha! Isn’t that sad and slightly pathetic that I have befriended the people at the post office?! ;) Anyway, if you are a winner of a recent Kiki Art giveaway, make sure to look for that in the mail because it’s headed your way.

Later during the day, we decided to drive up to the city to get some photos from Twin Peaks. None of us had driven up there before, even though we’ve been to the city a million times. Scott, my brother, had even lived there for a couple of years, and he still had never been up to Twin Peaks. …so yup, off to check out the view of San Francisco.

The view was incredible. Check out some of the photos I took from up top:

Usually San Francisco is overcast with fog. It was a actually clear!

Scott enjoyed the view from up top!

The Bay Bridge is to the right, and that main street is Market Street.

Gloria nabbed the camera from me and took this photo.

Here's the view of the Golden Gate Bridge from Twin Peaks. Doesn't this photo look like a painting?!

Maui and I hanging out at Twin Peaks!

The crazies seemed to enjoy the view too! :)

One word for this picture - HOOLIGANS!

We stayed until the sun went down to get the night view. It was GORGEOUS!

If you are ever in the area, you should definitely drive up to Twin Peaks. It’s a great view of the city of San Francisco.

As for creativity this weekend, I didn’t really get much done. Last week, however, I finished a couple of projects.

I created a layout using a sketch that fellow design team member, Lynda, created for Kiki Art. Here’s her sketch:

…and here’s my take on the sketch:

There was some fun news announced over at the Kiki Art blog today, check it out here for your chance to get some free products!

I also finished creating a mini album using Urban Swank papers and the ever-so-useful bind-it-all. I love how this one turned out; it’s so pretty!

If you want to see some of the inner pages to this mini, head here for more photos of this project.

Okay, I’ll stop rambling now. See you all soon! ;)

Happy Sunday!

I LOVE March because it’s birthday month. I’m ready for all of the lovin’ and spoilin’ that goes on around here. ;)

On another note, I just wanted to post the latest work created by yours truly.

The first project was created for my cousin. When her son was born, I knew that I had to make some thing for her. I made her a wall hanging using the Zutter‘s new hang-it-alls:

Most of the papers on this project are from Donna Salazar‘s latest lines. …and that pretty lace is one of the many Kiki Art embellishments. To tell you quite honestly, this project was totally outside of my box. If you have seen my gallery, you must know that I’m a big fan of the vivid and bold colors. Working with vintage looking products is always a challenge for me, but I’m glad I tried. It never hurt to try, right?!

I found a way to organize my mini alphabet stickers! I created a book with my bind-it-all to store these stickers.

Notice Scooter’s Vacation by Imaginisce on the cover? Vespas! Dogs! Travel-themed stuff! Seriously, it doesn’t get any better than that! …and if you haven’t already heard, the twine is from Deana; she’s got tons of it in her shop, so make sure to check it out. She’ll LOVE you if you take some of it outta her hands. ;)

For details on these projects, go check out my March gallery over at Zutter Zisters.

Now, for the fun stuff… stuff created for YOU and YOU and YOU.

The following layout was created for my good friend from high school. Her daughters are adorable, and I couldn’t resist putting them in a layout. Nikki Sivils gave me these papers to play with, and I finally got around to playing with her Flaming Butterfly line. I’m all about the bright colors, so this one made me happy! :)

The following two layouts highlight Imaginisce‘s Live Loud. When I received my DT box, I was so excited to start using it. It’s such a fun line to use. Really, it is!

This first layout was created for Erin. We spent a good amount of time trying to dig up photos to use, and after searching and searching, she found some. Glad she picked these because it’s perfect for the Live Loud line. Hopefully, she likes this one as much as I do. :)

…and last but not least, this one was created for Leisa and her son, Jaren. Jaren Beedee, I miss you. Let’s hang out soon, okay?!

I feel slightly nervous. Is this normal?! Well, I guess it is for me considering I have anxiety disorder.

…and I have officially started to count down the days until I turn 26! The biological clock is ticking; I better get on it. ;)

Over the weekend, we went to visit the nearby NASA Ames Research Center. Here’s a little bit of information I found on the NASA website:

Ames Research Center, one of 10 NASA field installations, is located in the heart of California’s Silicon Valley at the core of the research cluster of high-tech companies, universities and laboratories that define the region’s character. With over $3.0 billion in capital equipment, 2,300 research personnel and a $600 million annual budget, Ames’ economic impact is significant. Ames plays a critical role in virtually all NASA missions in support of America’s space and aeronautics programs.

Pretty neat, huh?! …and it’s even better that there’s a visitor center that people can come and check out.

One of NASA's models on display.

This reminds me of ET. :) I love this photo!

Wouldn't it be REALLY cool if we could touch something extra terrestrial!?

They have this roaming the moon exploring for life and water.

Out in outer space, haha! :)

Now that you have seen some outer space exploration, I’ll give you an itty bitty peek into my own personal scrap space. The back of the door holds some of my ribbon and punches. No, that’s not all the ribbon and punches I have. Trust me, I’ve got bags and bags and bags of ribbon stored elsewhere! As for the punches, there’s just no more space for them on the door. The rest of my punches are on my desk, under my desk, on the dining table, in my crop bag, in the car, etc. You get the picture, right?!

If this was REALLY what I had, I'd be thrilled!

…and yes, those are some EK Success punches! LOL. ;)

As for my alphas, let’s just say I shouldn’t be buying anymore Thickers or alphabet stickers. Below is some of my stash. Yikes! Like the punches, I’ve got a ton elsewhere… on my desk, in the family room, in my crop bags, on the dining table, at my Mom’s place, etc. haha.

Here's a glimpse of some of my alpha stash.

What?! Don't look at me like I'm an addict! Some of these are given to me!

Dishrack turned into a place to put my alphas.

Any ideas on how to organize ribbon, punches, or alphas?! I’m open to any suggestions! ;)

I have WINNERS to the 50k giveaway! :) WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER! Again, thank you to everyone who helped me reach my goal.

…and Christine thank you for generating a bunch of hits to my blog. You are the winner to the scrapbook supplies valued at over $50! If all of you could please email me at redoaklines[at]gmail[com], I can send out your prizes! :)

Last but not least, I’ve got more Zutter news for everyone! Want to win products that scrapbook stores don’t have yet?! This is what’s up for grabs:

…and Nan, posted this up on the blog:

It’s so much fun at CHA to share the new products and conduct make ‘n takes for crafters from everywhere!  This year at the Zutter booth we made a different MnT everyday, and by far one of the faves was the 3-piece Clipboard Wood wall decor using the NEW Hang-it-Alls – the cute little hardware that takes your paper crafts to awesome hangable art.  We used selections of paper from Donna Salazar Designs as well as the Rivet Setter, Hammer and Pound-it-All from Zutter…and voila!

To be entered to win, head here. There’s even a video posted.

Wow, that was a LONG post. Sorry for all of that rambling.

PS: Friday is going to be a life altering day. :)

These past couple of days, I have finished a ton of stuff that I wanted to do this week.

1. I finished a layout using some of the papers that Nikki Sivils kindly gave to me at CHA. Thanks again, Nikki, for letting me play with some of your products!

2. I finished designing the Kiki Art make and takes for Scrap Blue! I still have to prep all the supplies for the event, but it’s not until Feb 27th, so I have some time.

3. I helped Vivian, the owner of Memories Live On, put in a Kiki Art order yesterday! …and guess what?! Her store also sells stuff ONLINE, which means you guys can now get your hands all over these products – including Hot AIR Balloon and WATER Rain. Once Vivian updates her inventory, I’ll share the link to where you can shop your heart out! I better see a ton of projects with Kiki Art products in the near future! ;)

4. Speaking of WATER Rain, check this out:

Isn’t that little girl with the umbrella ADORABLE?! I love her playfulness, and I absolutely love the galoshes she is wearing.  There’s also a little boy with an umbrella in the WATER Rain line.

I LOVE that this line works for both boys and girls – LOVE it! :)

5. I got another one of my Zutter DT boxes! I was so excited when it arrived that I opened it right away.

I foresee a ton of Zutter projects in the making. ;) I can’t wait to start playing with my new stuff!

Catch you all later!

Yesterday, I checked my email and read that… I’m now officially a Zutter Zister!!!!!

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Can you believe it?! I know I can’t! I told Gloria to pinch me because I thought I was dreaming!! …and this morning I woke up, and I thought to myself, “I had the best dream ever!” …but I then realized I wasn’t dreaming when I checked my email again. :)

Please head on over to the Zutter blog to congratulate all of the other talented women who are on the team. Seriously, they do some AMAZING work. :)

Anyway, just had to share in a quick post. I will definitely be back with updates.

Hugs to all,
sarah.
