I always hear people say the phrase, “stuck in a rut”. Do you need a way out?! Here are some ideas to consider:
1. Use a sketch.
I used the latest one over at Sketchy Thursdays. There was something about the simple design that made me want to use it. I took this sketch…
…and I created this layout:
Name something you did today that made you smile, and I’ll add your name into a random drawing to win a small online gift certificate to an online scrapbook store.
You have until June 28th, 11:59 pm, to play. Share the news on your blog, and I’ll add your name into the drawing three times!
Things that recently made me smile:
- How the dogs wake me up in the morning (They jump on the bed and try to give me “kisses”.)
- Whole Foods food, especially their desserts
- Waking up to hundreds of flowers just for me
- Hanging out in the city (San Francisco)
- Getting stared at by random people NOT!
- The wonderful phone messages and emails received from people. I really appreciate them.
- UP in 3D! I got to watch it at the nearby IMAX theater with my COOLIO 3D glasses. I’m going to have to take a picture wearing them. Anyway, I liked this movie! It made me cry.
- My package from SisTV came in the mail today.
That’s only some of the recent things that make me smile. Today was a great day. Tomorrow will be even better.

I’ve been totally inconsistent with posting updates. Oooops! In the past couple of days, I’ve been trying to relax and enjoy life; however, I still feel exhausted emotionally, physically, and mentally. Although tired, I still have a creative spark going, which is a great thing because it helps me relieve stress.
I’ve been busy scrapping about every project – layouts, cards, altered items, etc. I’d love to share ALL of them, but unfortunately, I’ll have to wait until I get permission to post. Until then, I’ll leave you with a couple projects.
My latest layout was inspired by Scrapping Out Loud. I really liked the idea of this challenge site; basically, you get a “Word of the Week” and a “Sketch of the Week”. You have a choice of either doing one or the other or both. I decided to play along.
…and because I already had a pile of scraps out, I cranked out a card for Valentine’s Day. Here is a random and spontaneous card I made:
I was already on a roll doing Valentine related projects, so I made a little felt pocket to store little love notes. I know a lot of couples write and doodle down notes to each other throughout the day, so I thought this was a cute way to store everyday sentiments. Of course, you can add a magnetic strip to the back, and put it up on the fridge!
Yesterday, Maui got to go to the park since it was sunny. She was completely drained from playing that within a few minutes in the car, she fell asleep.
The past couple of days, I’ve been also working on the patio area. I’ve been trying to add more color to our empty space, so I planted some flowers. I plan on growing vegetables and herbs, but I’ll wait until the cold chill goes away. Anyway, I wanted to share some fun little “critters” in our garden.
…and I was so excited when I saw these pop out of the ground. I counted around 4-5 buds, and hopefully more will be sprouting out soon! Thank gosh for the sun because I’m starting to dislike the cold!
Those are all the pictures I have of the garden right now. I’ll update more soon!
And last but not least, I’m giving out a RAK. I have more random stuff to giveaway, so if you want to play. Just leave a comment with what flower you think I should have in our garden. Last day to comment will be Sunday, January 18th, by 11:59pm.
Here’s some random information that I bet all of you didn’t know — I used to work as a florist at a floral shop. You’re probably wondering, why are you sharing that?! Well…
So, the latest news is that my good friend Kristin, is finally having her dream come true. She now owns her very own floral shop called Posh Shoppe Florist! Cheers and a big hooray for Kristin! It’s been a stressful time for her, so show your support for a fellow scrapper. If you are ever in the Sacramento region and in need of flowers drop by her shop. Also, if you have friends/family in the area, you can either call or order online and have your flowers delivered.
This girl is amazing when it comes to floral design (and scrapbooking, of course!). Trust me, I’ve seen her work! She’s been working with flowers since I can remember. She does everyday flowers, birthdays, holidays, funerals, weddings, custom silk arrangements, wreaths, EVERYTHING. (Oh, and I LOVE her shop because it’s dog friendly!)
…and Kristin left me some information on her fun and exciting new business to share with everyone:

On another note, I’d like to share with everyone that I was selected as part of an international design team for a new challenge blog called Butterfly Crafts. This blog is dedicated to challenges about scrapping your passions. I’m really excited to be on board with a group of ladies from all around the world. Each designer has their own unique style, and I’m glad to be scrapping with them. Hopefully, I’ll be able to learn and share a few tricks/techniques here and there. Make sure to check us out if you haven’t done so!
Still miss you,
