Oh my word! It has been on crazy adventure over here in Chicago. On top of all of the inspiring creations in the manufacturer booths with all of the new releases, I had the opportunity to finally meet a handful of designers in the industry. Talk about major fun!
I wasn’t able to post during the week, but I did get the chance to write short snippets of my day every night. My blog acts as journal, so I thought I would share these past couple of hectic days with everyone.
Sunday, July 25th: Suzy taught another class over at Creative Cuts and Crafts today, and I was there to help out. We all had a blast making a fun Punky Sprouts mini album using some adorable paper from Crate Paper. The gals over at that store are so sweet, so if you are in their area, make sure to pay them a visit.
Monday: July 26th: Today was way too much fun! I woke up bright and early and headed to the convention center. First, I helped Suzy and Shelly set up the Punky Sprouts booth. Afterwards, I headed over to help Lori teach both of her Imaginisce classes.
Check out these ladies having a blast playing with the new Birthday Bash line from Imaginisce.
The irock is totally a hit! Everyone had a blast playing with it in class.
I got the chance to finally meet Megan! She came to help Lori teach her classes. She’s so awesome!
These girls are rockin’ it out with the irock.
Tuesday, July 27th: …
Well, you are just going to have to come back to see opening day of Summer CHA 2010. Stay tuned for pictures from the floor.
In the meantime, leave a comment to this post telling me what month you were born in, and I will put your name into a giveaway for some free Zutter products (cover-alls and owires) and some exclusive freebies from CHA! You have until Saturday, July 31st by 11:59 pm to play.
Remember that storm I wrote about last night?! Well, it turns out that it flooded a ton of spots all over the Chicago area. It made driving conditions horrific. It took TWO HOURS to travel EIGHT MILES to where we needed to be!
After sitting in the car for TWO HOURS to drive EIGHT MILES, we finally got to Creative Cuts and Crafts. We helped Suzy teach her Cherished Memories class using the newest book from Punky Sprouts. Here are some pictures of all of us from today’s class:
I plan on updating as soon as a can!
Today, I’m off to teach a couple of classes, so I’m going to try to make this a quick post.
Every month, I’ve been responsible for teaching a sketch class over at one of the local scrapbook stores in my area, and it’s been doing wonderfully. People seem to really be enjoying it, so I’m going to continue to teach it. For my August sketch class, I used this week’s sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays.
Here’s the sketch:
…and like the previous classes I have taught, I create two (2) layouts per sketch. Here are the projects that I created:
((Sorry for the not so great photos. I took them really early this morning, and I think I was half asleep.))
If you are interested in taking this class, check here for updates and details.
Oh, and I almost forgot… Today was my day to post over at Urban Swank, so I did a quick post on a really simply layout I created.
…and because I’m feeling generous this morning, let’s do a giveaway for a $30 package of Urban Swank goodies! Here’s how to play:
1. Visit this post and leave a comment.
2. Come back here and let me know that you left a comment.
3. Deadline to be entered into this giveaway is Monday, July 19th, by 11:59 pm.
Good luck to everyone who plays.
Now, I’m off to start my day. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!
