Today I thought, “Why is Friday the 13th deemed an unlucky day?” Well, what better to do then to seek an answer! I decided to research the topic, and upon doing so, I found some interesting facts courtesy of Wikipedia. (I love random information!)
- The fear of Friday the 13th is called friggatriskaidekaphobia.
- An estimated 17 to 21 million people in the United States are affected by a fear of this day.
- According to folklorists, there is no written evidence for a “Friday the 13th” superstition before the 19th century.
On another note, let’s talk fun!
Every now and then, people like to pose for photos. I’ll admit to posing for the camera sometimes; I may not like the photo, but I still think it can be fun. Besides, it’s always fun to look back on older photos. With all of the technology out there, it’s easy to capture random photos nowadays. Here are some recent photos of me:

I’ve been on a roll with creating layouts recently. Yesterday, I picked up some Studio Calico to work with. This company has become one of my recent favorites. I love the simplicity and modern look of everything they put out. Plus, I love the pops of color on their papers.
Yup, the only layout I created yesterday. Boo! I wanted to do more, but alas I’ll settle for that one. Hopefully I’ll be lucky on the 13th and create a fabulous layout at the crop tonight, hehe!
A little wall hanging in the shop to boost my mojo.

I’m excited that a lot of the paper companies out there are starting to add more color to their collections. I like the vintage stuff, but I’m not into the drab papers as much as I am into the bright and happy color schemes. I really like the vintage look, but I feel like that look has become overkill in the past five years or so.
For instance, the paper from A Boy’s Life from Echo Park was totally something I enjoyed using. The colors were fun and lively – perfect for a little boy, or should I say dog, hehe.

…and because Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I thought I’d be festive and use vibrant reds and pinks in the With Love paper by Pebbles.

Speaking of color, I’ve been loving the blue skies recently. It’s chilly outside, but I love it. Sometimes, however, I wish that we had gray skies, so that we’d get some rain around here, and perhaps some snow up in the Sierras.
That’s all for now.

Can you tell that I went a little bit paper happy? Well, I did. Just a compilation of a bunch of My Mind’s Eye, Echo Park, Jillibean Soup, American Crafts, and basically every other scrapbook manufacturer.
Is it seriously only Tuesday?! Aye! I wish it was Friday already. Somebody make the days go by faster.

Let me start off by saying that the oddest occurrences have happened in the shop two days in a row now.

These occurrences weren’t bad, just very different than my typical day.
Yesterday, I was creating in the back, and two guys walked in; it seriously looked like they were charging towards me to attack me! After my minor panic attack, I noticed that one of the guys had a guitar strapped over his body. All of a sudden, the dude with the guitar started playing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, and his friend started singing along. Yup, just for me. Then, they walked out.
Today, I was typing up a flyer with the latest events, and all of a sudden, a jolly Santa walks into the shop. He rubs his belly and shouts, “Ho! Ho! Ho!” Then, he hands me a candy cane and says, “Hope you get everything you want, Miss.” Hrm.
I’m baffled, but then again, it’s Christmastime, so I’m not too worried.
…and because everyone around me seems to be festive, I thought I’d share a holiday layout I created last week using the latest Echo Park and Authentique stuff:
Can you tell that I love their stickers?! Yup, I went sticker happy here. It’s just so amazing to me that there are so many things you can do with random stickers.
Lastly, below is another Authentique layout that I made using more stickers. This one’s all about my brother and his girlfriend; they’re so adorable together, so I thought I’d make a lovey dovey layout about these two lovebirds.
Yeah, yeah. I went sticker happy again. Go figure! I couldn’t resist using them for something romantic.
I still need to take real photos of our Christmas tree and some of my favorite ornaments this year. Ever since I got the new iPhone, I’m always taking the shortcut using that camera. Hopefully, if I find the time tonight, I’ll snap a couple and share them.
Happy Wednesday!

PS: Nat, I hope you enjoyed that layout. Feel free to share it with the world, hehe.
Today I had a huge urge to be paper crafty. There was no agenda, no assignment to complete. I busted out a box filled with older leftover scraps from previous store projects.
It was pure bliss. I wanted to share two of the handful that I made today.
First layout was about who I am. I love that the words from one of the many Crate Paper sticker sheets go well with what I was trying to document.
Second layout was all about the pups being spoiled. These pictures were taken awhile ago, but I love seeing their “smiles” on their faces, hehe. So cute!
With a little touch of Stickles, wah-la!
For dinner today, we ate at the sushi bar around the corner. Their sushi rolls are humongous! I’m still full just thinking about it, and dinner was over five hours ago. I took random photos and thought it would be fun to share.
Yum!
Okay, I’m off to bed because I’ve got a long day tomorrow. However, I’m thankful that tomorrow’s Friday! The forecast of my weekend looks fairly entertaining. I’m hoping for the very best.
