Dog toys and treats.

For those of you readers who visit my blog for Maui updates, this posting is mostly pictures of that little monster of a dog we have.

Early yesterday morning, we left the front door open, so she could play outside in the patio area. When I went outside to check up on her, I found a couple of her toys out there. I guess she decided to lug “Donkey” and “Football” outside to get some fresh air with her.

She decided to bring the toys out with her.

She decided to bring the toys out with her.

Yes, can I help you?

"Yes, can I help you?"

"No, Mommy. I did not bring them outside."

Later on that day, she decided to play with her new toy, “Ice Cream” (aren’t we inventive with the name of her toys? haha). I thought it was hilarious the way she kept chomping down on “Ice Cream” even though it probably tastes like plastic! …but then again, dogs will eat almost anything you give them. hehe.

Maui wishes she could eat ice cream!

We all woof for ice cream!

"We all 'woof' for ice cream!"

Running around with her ice cream.

…and at Target, right now, they are selling some super cute dog Christmas pajamas. I can’t seem to find them online to share with everyone, but they should be in the pet section at your local Target. They were only $4.99, so we could not resist. A friend wanted to see pictures of Maui sporting her new pajamas, so here she is all warm and cozy:

Pajamad out!

Can I pleeeeease play outside?

"Can I pleeeeease play outside?"

Dont make me beg!

On another note, I’ve been meaning to make homemade dog treats for Maui because she’s allergic to corn and pork (she’ll break out with skin rashes). Sometimes, it can be really hard to find food/treats for her when it seems like most products on the market have both! I found this really simple recipe, Frozen Peanut Butter Yogurt Treats, so I gave it a shot. To freeze them, I placed them on a silicone baking liner and popped them into the freezer. The portions in the recipe are really big, so I made a small batch in case Maui didn’t like them. They turned out great, and Maui totally loved them. She managed to munch up two of these scrumptious treats before bedtime.

Put these in the freezer!

Before: Put these in the freezer!

Frozen! Give them to pup!

After: Frozen! Give them to pup!

It was super easy making these treats, and I definitely plan on trying other dog treat recipes in the future. If you’re interested in making more homemade dog treats, I’ve found some really cool sites you might want to take a look at:

Bull Wrinkle

Gourmet Sleuth

The Poop

Two Dog Press

Daily Drool

…and last but not least, I wanted to share the latest layout I created for Pink Sketches. I want to encourage all of you to come join us this week for another great sketch! It’s really simple, just interpret the sketch anyway you want, and share it with us! We’d absolutely love to see your work.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week,

Miss you,

Sarah.

    to cropandscrapdesigner,

our breeder told us that her family line had allergies to corn and pork. apparently, when they feed her family line they would break out in skin rashes… so we didn’t want to risk it. if your pup is breaking out in rashes, i would recomment talking to your vet. 🙂 they’re pretty helpful with things like that.
