Shopping and The Story Matters Challenge

Let me tell you that I have not been shopping since FOREVER! Today, I actually went shopping, and it got me so excited for Christmas. Most stores have “decked their halls” with Christmas beauty! I loved walking in and out of every store checking out the various holiday decor. Besides, it gave me a reason to go shopping… for myself! haha.

At a local shopping center called Santana Row, the Christmas decor in Anthropologie caught my attention. It was so shimmery – too bad I didn’t take a picture; I didn’t have my camera with me. They’ve got some really cute things for sale right now, especially in their clothes department!

I could not resist going into Paper Source. If you haven’t been here, and there is one in your area, you should definitely check it out. It’s one of those stores that every paper crafter would love! These are some of their products that caught my attention.

Chocolate Kimono Tote

Blue Robot Ornament

Anyway, I’m sooo excited for the holiday season. I plan on decorating the house really soon, perhaps this weekend if time permits. This year we’ve decided to do a silver and white theme. Hopefully, I’ll be able to pull it off since we only decided on this theme three weeks ago. Eeeeps!

…and a Maui update: She’s doing wonderfully. Although she is drugged up on her meds, she’s starting to act a little bit more like her normal self every day, trouble maker and all. She just sleeps more than usual, which I’m assuming is normal because she’s recovering from a minor owie.

I hate being on bed rest!

"I hate being on bed rest!"

Last but not least, I wanted to share the layout I created for the current challenge over at  The Story Matters. It’s a challenge about what you are thankful for, so I kind of flipped it around and made a layout about what I am (un)thankful for, hehe. I guess it’s a love/hate relationship with — cupcakes! Here it is:

Title: unthankful 4 cupcakes

Description: In the top journaling block, I wrote, “i’ve always been a fan of sweets. it makes me feel better when i don’t feel so good… i AM thankful for that, but i am UNthankful to its unhealthy characteristics.” The bottom journaling reads, “citizen cake was a wonderful place to pick up some dessert for gloria’s 25th birthday.”

Materials: Paper Love Elsie, DCWV Other Creative Imaginations – Stickers, My Little Shoebox – Stickers, Offray – Ribbon, American Crafts – Thickers, Doodlebug – Stickers, Colorbox, Uniball Signo, Various Ribbons

Until next time,
