In the words of the late, Michael Jackon, “…heal the world. Make it a better place. For you and for me and the entire human race. There are people dying if you care enough for the living. Make a better place for you and for me.”
As most of you know, I usually blog about my family and friends, the dogs, and scrapping. Today, I thought I would try something new. Gloria and I are volunteers/walkers for the AIDS Walk San Francisco 2009, and we plan on raising a measly $100 for this event. I don’t have much time considering the event is on July 19th, so I’m in dire need of some help. I really, really, really want to reach this goal, so I thought I would extend the invite to help.
If interested (which I hope you are), here is some information and how it will work.
- You kindly donate money to our cause, and I will create a layout just for you.
- Shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating your donation online, and I will confirm by sending back an email to you.
- You then will get to email me a photo (or two) with your mailing address, and I will scrap away and create a layout just for you made by yours truly. 😉
- I’ll mail your layout to your home as a gift for your kindness and generosity.
Now, doesn’t this sound like fun?! Basically, I’m using my artistic skills to help other people. I thought it would be a great idea, and it’s for a great cause. None of the proceeds will go to me. I’m just using my scrapping passion to help others who are in need.
Don’t know anything about AIDS Walk?! No problem. Here you go:
For 22 years, AIDS Walk San Francisco has evoked a powerful outpouring of public support. This year, please join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of people struggling with HIV and AIDS. This is my 4th year participating in AIDS Walk San Francisco and we have set a goal to raise $100!
In this year when clients need so much and resources are tighter, I am asking you to reach deeply into your heart and consider making a gift to help cover for those who are unable to give this year. I am set on surpassing my goal this year—Please sponsor us today by clicking the link below to visit our AIDS Walk fundraising Web page! The website is secure and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
If you prefer to write a check donation, please make it out to “AIDS Walk San Francisco” and mail it the address below—including the name “Gloria Kee (Red Oak Lines)” along with the check. The fight against AIDS is not over! Did you know…
• Every 9 ½ minutes, someone in the U.S. is infected with HIV?
• Nationally, 1 out of every 5 people infected with HIV don’t know it?
• There are over 25,000 people currently living with HIV in San Francisco?
The San Francisco AIDS Foundation has set new, bold and aggressive to improve HIV prevention in the Bay Area and help the rest of the country—and the world—learn from their example. The Foundation’s comprehensive array of services, advocacy and outreach ensure that individuals get tested, know how to prevent infection, and that HIV-positive people receive the treatment they need.
The AIDS Walk is our community’s single most powerful and enduring response to the AIDS epidemic. Thank you in advance for being as generous as you can and for joining me in this important cause!
Thanks again in advance for all of your help.
BIG BIG BIG hugs,
PS: Click here to donate! 🙂 I’ll love you for life. 🙂
