humidity is an understatement.

Heading to the East Coast during the summertime, I knew to pack appropriately for humid weather. Since I’m a California raised gal, I figured to bring along the usual sunny day apparel – shorts and a cute top. Besides, a sunny day outfit usually justifies for humid tropical weather. Well, it turns out that I should have consulted with friends that live out here. When they say “humid”, they are talking sauna weather! haha! 🙂 It is ridiculously hot and humid out here.

Oh, and the lightening out here is crazy! It lights up the night sky. Oh, and the thunder is so darn loud. Yikes! It makes me miss California weather.

Anywho, here are some pictures from the past couple of days.

A relaxing view from the hotel room.

I love this relaxing view from the hotel room. The seclusion of this place feels like a retreat.

Visiting downtown Princeton was fun (and humid). We walked around Princeton University to observe the architecture and the culture of the people. I only snapped a few shots, but here’s some to share:

Doesnt the Princeton campus look like something from Harry Potter?!

Oh, how she wishes she was a Princeton grad. I guess UCD will do.

Seeeee, more Harry Potter looking buildings! LOL!

Seeeee! I told you it looks like Harry Potter buildings! LOL!

Oh, and before I forget… thank you, Scott, for house sitting while we are out of town!

  6. Heat & humidity? Welcome to my world. That would be why we are headed to Cali. 🙂

Bryn just said to me the other day, “It’s too bad we can’t see Sarah when we’re in California.” (I think she REALLY wants to meet Maui & Hilo…) 🙂

Talk about humidity – when we moved from Colorado to Florida, my son was 11. Just after we arrived, he was out playing and he came running in totally upset – “Mom, why am I so wet?” He had never sweated before because it’s so dry in Colorado. Also he had never seem a glass sweat – you don’t have to worry about setting drinks on tables in CO. Have a great trip!

  11. Waw, it really looks like the Harry Potter movies. Looks like you had so much fun there.
Great layout. Maybe I’ll try the sketch too.

  12. I realy like the architecture and the artistic structures. The layout is nice too! Speaking of hot and humid, we have it here too in Canada. Enjoy your trip!

  14. Glad you like my new one. Samantha said she “NEEDS” to go see the puppies! I then asked her why and she said “cause they love me!” hahaha. I also saw the lo of the day too. I was like WOWZER! I couldnt believe it.

  15. lydia – well if you guys are ever in calif, let me know! i’d love for her to see the puppies! 🙂 they love getting tons of attention! 🙂

  16. I hate the heat! We are currently melting in Oregon 🙂 Way too hot for my liking. Love the pictures and your LO!

  17. Hey there! Welcome to the East coast. I live in VA. So yes, humidity is a killer over here. 🙂 Hope you are still having fun though.

  18. Humidity definitely sucks! I’m California born and now live in the south. Growing up my dad always said about the California heat, ‘But it’s a dry heat!’ After living in Florida and now Georgia, I totally understand! I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it! Looks like you’re having a good trip! Love the layout, too!

  19. Hi Sarah! Humidity and heat take a lot out of you. I moved here in South from So. Cal. You can say we have 4 seasons here but I miss mild and dry Cali, too. Love the photos as always. Love the “flowers” on Basic Grey. WTG!! So neat!

  20. rad pictures and i loooove your take on the sketch
    {xoxo}
