These past couple of days have been quite hard for me. I’ve been feeling on edge. To tell you quite honestly, I’m not exactly sure why I’ve been feeling this way. I think I feel antsy over anticipation. Sometimes, it even seems that my anxiety has won another battle. Eh, I guess that’s my flaw. …but hey, at least I’m fessing up to my flaws, right?! Admitting them is definitely one of my strengths, I’d say. Knowing my flaws allows me to improve on becoming a better person.
This weekend was supposed to be one of those relaxed stay at home weekends, but it totally didn’t end up that way because we all know how much I love to be out and about. 🙂
On Saturday, I got to spend a chunk of my day playing with bottles, bottles, and more bottles of Glimmer Mist. Cory Phillips from Tattered Angels was in town to teach various techniques on how to play with these ADDICTING bottles of fun. I had tons of fun learning new ways to embellish my layouts and projects, and by the end of the class, my hands were totally “glimmered” out.
Sunday was definitely a BUSY day. We woke up early, packed up the car, and headed to the beach all before 8 o’clock! Yes, we decided to take Maui and Hilo to the beach, hehe. 🙂 Because we knew the beaches were going to get pretty crowded, we decided to play at a more isolated and secluded beach — Bean Hollow State Beach, which is just south of Half Moon Bay.
On the way home, traffic going towards the beach was horrendous. I guess it’s true what they say, “The early bird always catches the worm.” Good thing we left early. 🙂
After the beach, we headed to one of the local scrapbook stores, and I got the chance to finally meet Holly, a sweet gal who lives in my area and “met” me through this blog. She was doing a make and take, so I wanted to drop by and say hello. I had fun learning new distressing techniques! Check out this tag I made (with Holly’s help, of course!):
Later that afternoon, we headed to Gloria’s sister’s place for an early Labor Day BBQ with her family. Maui and Hilo had a blast playing with Mina and Milo. Four dogs running a muck, good food, and nice weather make an awesome BBQ, don’t you think?!
It’s Tuesday, and I want it to be Friday all ready. haha! Today, I plan on taking out all of the fall/Halloween decorations out of the storage. Fall is right around the corner, and it’s my favorite season. I can’t wait to decorate our place and deck it out with fall colors!
Scrappity scrap news:
The first layout she posted was one I had previously posted on my blog, but I thought I’d post it again. Personally, I love the little bow I put in the owl’s head. 🙂 Isn’t it darling?!
The second layout she posted was my layout that I created for this week’s sketch over at Pink Sketches. To see this week’s sketch and for some awesome inspiration from the DT, head on over to see the latest!
The girls over at TAAFOMFT are amazingly sweet, and we’ve all made such awesome friendships via our MULTIPLE and NUMEROUS emails to each other. After receiving an email from Deana, I decided to make a layout to cheer her up. Why? Well, you’re going to head over to her blog to find out. 🙂 Anyway, I wanted to share what I made for her.
Last but not least, I had a ton of scraps lying all over the floor, so I decided to create something to decorate our newly made mantle! 🙂 I ended up making a haunted house! When I get the time, I plan on adding spiderwebs and a dilapidated fence around the house. Let me know what you think!
…and since I’m all ready talking about Halloween, I finished my Halloween cards over the weekend too! I’m totally on a roll, wouldn’t you say?!
Last but not least, the one and only layout I created this weekend:
With all that said, I’d say I have more strengths than weaknesses. Now that’s a reason to smile. 🙂
