the Easter weekend recap

Let’s just say that I’m still recovering from our busy schedule these past couple of days.

We blew bubbles outside. πŸ˜‰ Khiara got a kick out of the dogs running around chasing all of the bubbles. Maui has always enjoyed bubble time, so I knew that Hilo was going to LOVE it. I was totally right!

"Arf! Arf! More bubbles, please!"

"Maui, you were right. This is F-U-N!"

Maui and Hilo had TONS of fun; they definitely slept well that night! We will be having many more bubble days this upcoming summer, hehe. πŸ˜‰ If you haven’t tried blowing bubbles for your dog, you should try it out. It’s great exercise for them, but make sure to use safe, non-toxic bubbles.

We also got around to coloring Easter eggs.

One of the bunches of eggs that she did NOT crack!

"Hmm.... is that a num num just for me?!"

I didn't notice Maui was begging behind me. "Mommy, I want to dye an egg too!"

Scott's shout out to the A's! Time for baseball season!

It's true -- brothers are always weird! πŸ™‚

Somebody really enjoyed coloring eggs, haha! πŸ™‚

Khiara and I are showing off our beautiful creations!

Meet Mrs. Easter Egg, colored by yours truly. πŸ˜‰

Early Easter Sunday, I woke up to, “Jesus is alive!” I’m not here to preach to anyone because I believe that religion is your own personal choice. However, I wanted to say that Easter isn’t just a holiday about Easter eggs, bunnies, and chocolates. It’s about celebrating the death and Resurrection of Jesus. Amen. πŸ™‚

After our traditional Easter egg hunt(s), we enjoyed a delicious brunch. Maui and Hilo had so much fun doing the Pup Egg Hunt because they got to enjoy some extra treats. We filled some plastic eggs with one of their favorite num nums, and then we hid them all over the place. They had to sniff around to find them.

Make sure to supervise your pets when you do this. You don't want them to choke on the plastic eggs! If possible, I recommend using the bigger plastic eggs.

"Hilo, all you have to do is find an egg like this."

"Mommy, I found one!! ...and there are treats inside!"

"Yum yum yum yum yum yum. Get in my belly!"

After the dogs found all of their pup eggs, it was Khiara’s turn! Gloria was in charge of hiding all of the eggs. Khiara found the majority of them, but she needed a little bit of help from Maui and Hilo. πŸ™‚

Maui helped Khiara find this one!

Even though Maui thinks she found it first, Hilo spotted it! πŸ™‚

It was definitely one fun and eventful weekend. We even managed to do some major grocery shopping out in my parents’ area; everything is much cheaper there than it is where we live. Besides, it’s cheaper tax. πŸ˜‰ It amazes me how prices on certain items can change so drastically from one area to another.

On top of all of the Easter festivities, I finished a couple of projects, which I plan on sharing later this week. Remember to head back soon to see all of my latest work!

For now, I would appreciate if you could provide me with some feedback. Thanks so much for all of your help!

PS: Why are some people so unoriginal; yet, they claim to be so creative?! Someone please explain that to me… On another note, I’m excited for all of the adventures planned for this year!

Looks like you all had a wonderful day and no wonder everyone slept well that night. And looks like the weather was perfect for all of the outdoor activities – you have some great pix there for scrapping. I understand your concerns about privacy and cast my vote accordingly. I love following your (and your furbabies’) adventures. Have a great week!

  10. Sarah, these are gorgeous photos!!! Love the pics with bubbles…we did bubble blowing with the kids too:) And we hid the dyed easter eggs and Noel tried to find all of them and eat them before the kids were getting to them!! I feel the same way about Easter and Christmas….so many times people tend to forget what they are really all about. I think you should do whatever makes you comfortable with the blog….and people will still read if they have to use a password….I guess that’s a good think about just a few people reading mine. And don’t ask me about the creativity thing.. I think some think that just copying what someone else is doing is called creativity. That is annoying. But anyway, before I write a book on here, I am glad you all had a good Easter. And Have a great week! Love, Jess

My Raisin and Muffin love bubble day at out house too!!! I so love how you include your fur babies in everything just like we include our fur babies in everything that we do!

It looks you had a great weather day for your festivities! It makes such a difference with this weather!

Hope you have an awesome day!!!!!!!!

  12. gloria

yes, private blog with password is fantastic because i am curious of the outcome. on a side note, i love the photos. coloring eggs is one of my least favorite things to do around easter because of the under age supervision that comes with it. taking julie’s advice. children are the devil! hahaha. jk. or am i?

on a side note, it is pouring over here. beautiful lightning storms and the supposed hail. however, i suspect the weather man is going to disappoint and i am not going to see any hail at all. although apparently there was a microburst that tore off some roofs. fabulous!

julie – i hate all photos that involve myself. remove remove remove. =P

  13. Jing-Jing

Sarah, your photos are so so so darling!!!!! I can’t tell you how much I’m loving seeing them!!!

  14. Oh my gosh, it looks like you had such a fun Easter! I haven’t dyed eggs in YEARS and it looks fun!! I’m going to have to try bubbles and see if Shawna will chase them. I tried it with the cats once and apparently it is sooo NOT a cat thing…LOL. Great photos!!! I can’t wait to see your new creations πŸ™‚

  15. Vel

LOL, I love your ps comment. I’m in a small group where we have “private” convos about our crafty gripes and that’s one of them. My biggest one is seeing the same names over and over and over in the mags and all their LOs/projects look the same. There’s nothing new out there to share with us? Someone who has more creativity in their little finger than the scrappy diva has in her whole body, her craft room and her LSS? Ah, well, whatever….

At any rate, glad you had a good weekend. My secret…I hate coloring eggs, always have, just now admitting it. Bores me to tears. And so we didn’t do any this year. RJ didn’t even ask to either so I guess that’s a sign. Or something. πŸ™‚

    Love the pics!

  16. CUTE photos…. loving the eggs. Bryn made all of ours & made some fun drawings & names on her eggs, too! My fav photo is of Gloria, though. I can always see how much she enjoys being crafty! πŸ˜‰

  17. paula

i love checking out your blog…your so inspiring!

  18. love the photos, such a fun idea to have the pups hunt for eggs and bubbles. Love the photos of the eggs.

  19. @yaya…. but the shark tank is like 10 minutes from you! and the earthquake play on santa clara’s campus! πŸ˜€

  20. scott — so?! πŸ˜‰ i’m not a fan of american soccer. remember… i like INNER milan πŸ˜‰ that other milan team sucks. hehehe.

  21. Mustangkayla

What fantastic bubble pictures! Your puppy egg hunt just cracks me up!

  22. Love the pictures girl! And your pup egg hunt is too cute! I think it’s about time I bust out some bubbles with the girls. They’d enjoy doing that. And I do have to agree with your P.S. statement. That’s why I never claim to be an artist or squeal about how creative I am….cuz…well. I scrapbook. that’s it. It’s my hobby not my work and originality? well…that’s to be debated upon since the www and thousands of sb’ers I’m sure my original design isn’t so original.

  23. Loving these photo’s Sarah…beautiful!
Love to blow bubbles, Dusty loves ’em too!Looks like you had an awesome an fun Easter weekend!I voted…I come to visit you with a password also…doesn’t matter what you do…I keep visiting πŸ˜‰

  29. adore your pics sarah

  30. I love your egg photos. I have decided that I will experience egg-dying and hunting vicarously through your photos, as I have no need for hardboiled eggs, and the cat is just too lazy to look for them (far more interested in lids at this point…still working on her).

Regarding your PS — are we talking about Martha? πŸ™‚

  31. looks to me like you have a fabulous day!!! gotta love coloring eggs… it’s the best!!!! Love the pics… they are wonderful!!!
