What do jeans and trousers have in common? Well, they’re both pants. However, the real question should be…
…are they Fancy Pants?!
I recently used some Rusted Sun by Fancy Pants, and I loved it as much as my favorite pair of jeans. I used some older pictures from one of our trips to Hawaii because it worked so well with these papers.
As most of you know, I’ve been trying to use up as many leftovers as possible. Thus, I used the same papers that I used in the above layout. Again, I worked with the another sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
Instead of using just one photo, I opted for four. Also, can you tell that I’m addicted to brads right now?! I decided to bring out my storage box that houses a ton of my metal embellishments, and I’ve been stuck on brads this whole week. Hey, at least I’m using up some of my older supplies, right?! 😉
Aren’t those Fancy Pants papers making you wish it was summer all ready?! I’m ready for SUN and more SUN. 🙂
Lastly, I was prompted by The Color Room to create another layout. My good friend, Jing Jing, invited me to join, and I’m glad that she did. The first challenge was to use the following color palette to create a layout:
This combination is definitely outside of my usual color picks. However, that’s the point of a challenge – – to expand your horizons and test your limits… right?! After what seemed like a millennium in the scrap room, I found some older supplies in these colors. Here’s my take using Palette #1:
Okay, okay… I admit it. I used brads on this one too, hehe. 🙂 …what?! They were sitting out on the table, and they were calling my name! Seriously though, it’s a great way to use up your brads and eyelets stash! Try it; you’ll be thanking me later. 😉
Anyway, this layout is definitely not very “Sarah”. What do you think? I think it’s because I have NEVER used that color combination? …or maybe it’s because of the excessive amounts of bling? …or maybe it’s because I tried working with a new design? The only feature on this layout that looks “Sarah” is the cute pictures of Maui, hehe. 😉
As for my weekend plans, it’s jammed pack busy, so I’ll be lucky if I get to create anything before I head to the land Beyond Borders. Either way, I’ll be back soon enough.
