the sampler blog hop!

Did I ever share the news that I was invited to be a guest designer this month for The Sampler kit club?! Well, in case you didn’t know, say hello to April’s guest designer, hehe!

Today, they are having their very first blog hop, and they have asked me to be a part of it. πŸ™‚

The Sampler Design Team has LOTS of inspiring projects, tips, and techniques to share, so please hop along with us to see what everyone has in store!

Here is the blog hop rotation for today:

End at The Crop Spot Blog with Sandy

…but before you head off to visit everyone’s blogs, I wanted to share a couple of layouts that I created using April’s kit.

To make those stars stand out, I added glitter and outlined the edges to each one. I LOVE how they add character to this layout.

Don’t you just LOVE the colors to this kit?! I do. It makes for a really great spring kit, but it also works for those future summer layouts and projects. As a matter of fact, I plan on sharing more projects that I have created with this kit.

…and because today there’s a blog hop going on, you all have a chance to win a PRIZE! By leaving a comment on EACH design team member’s blog, you have a chance to WIN an amazing prize sponsored by Scrapbooking Supplies R US!Β  You have until Tuesday, April 27th to leave your comments.

Now, hop on over to find out what Sandy has created to inspire you today!

Also, The Sampler Kit Club just put out a design team call. Want to play with some new products and show off your beautiful work?! Click here to find out more. I’d LOVE to see you on the team!

Aside from the blog hop and design team call, I wanted to share some layouts that I created yesterday.

What do you think of the design on the above layout? The colors, the design, the journaling, and everything else about it screams “Sarah”, don’t you think? I’m only asking because I’m trying to branch out from my comfort zone.

…so to challenge myself, when I went to Memories Live On to pick up products for design samples (it had been over two weeks, yikes!), I opted to work with some of the latest from Webster’s Pages. In case you haven’t really seen much of my work, I usually don’t work with their papers. Some people now how to make it look GORGEOUS; me, on the other hand, prefer to work with bright colored papers. This was definitely a challenge, but I’m proud to say that I actually finished a “sort of vintage” layout!

Okay, so I cheated a little bit; I added bright colors here and there πŸ˜‰ You can’t blame me though. My creative nature flocks towards those brighter colors, haha!

On a side note, who’s glad it’s Friday?! ME! ME! ME! This week went by pretty quickly because I’ve been busy trying to get myself readjusted. The weekend weather looks promising, so if it’s sunny, perhaps a picnic at the park could be scheduled. πŸ™‚

PS: Has anyone dealt with foster parenting or adoption? I know some people might find that too personal to talk about, but if you are open to share your thoughts, please contact me. I’d LOVE to hear what you’ve got to say.
