the dreaded poke.

Yesterday wasn’t very fun, but it was definitely a must. I went in to see my primary physician, and I had to take care of the dreaded “girly” exams for the sake of wanting to have children. On top of that, I opted to make sure that all my vaccines were up to date. I was already at the doctor’s office, so why not get my blood work checked to make sure everything looks normal?!

One of the vaccines that I got was the painful Tetanus shot. ARGH! Let me just tell you that even today my arm is sore. 😦 I hardly got sleep last night because it hurt. I woke up at 2:30 am, but I didn’t end up going back to bed until around 4:30 am.

When I woke up today, it didn’t hurt as bad. I popped a couple of painkillers to help alleviate the pain, and so far, it’s working. I even went for a long bike ride without it feeling too painful. πŸ™‚ …and I even designed a couple of layouts, too!

By now, I’m pretty sure everyone knows how much I love bright colored projects. The layout below definitely falls under that category. Kiki Art and Sassafras Lass combined looks good!

I also scrapped a layout with some of the photos I took of my brother at his graduation. This one is loaded with Imaginisce goodies; I even busted out my oh-so-cool irock! It’s shipping to stores within the next couple of weeks, so make sure to pick one up. It’s totally worth every penny you spend on it!

…and the best part about the irock, at least in my opinion, is that the bling does not fall off. The other day, Gloria tried to yank off one of my gems, but the gem conquered. πŸ˜‰

My generous friend, Sarah, designs for Moxxie, and she sent me some of their fun products. I finally had the chance to sit down and get a page done. I kept to a really simple design on this one, but I still like how this one looks:

Isn’t Maui super cute in these pictures?! On that day, a handful of people stopped to ask me if she knew how to surf or boogie board. “Nope,” I would reply. “She sits on the board because she doesn’t want to get her behind dirty.” πŸ˜‰ Sometimes, I think Maui is a little dog snob, haha!

I still love Maui nonetheless, hehe.

Also, I wanted to talk about the good news from my friend, Monika. She is an amazing designer, and she wanted me to pass on some fun news with all of you. Write. Click. Scrapbook. is having an anniversary party! Make sure to head on over there for your chance to win some really great prizes. ((In case you didn’t know, the site was created when Simple Scrapbooks Magazine ended its publication.))

This is a completely random side note, but if you are a Jack Johnson fan, his new CD is GREAT! At our house, we have always been big fans. We’re laid back people, and we don’t care so much for the rap/hip hop stuff in the music industry (unless, of course, we are at the club). Anyway, it was released yesterday, and we made sure to pick up a copy. Besides, proceeds of his sales go to help saving the Earth/ocean! πŸ˜‰

Hopefully, I get the chance to check in and post before I leave for Texas tomorrow! If not, I will catch you all later. Now, I’m off to relax my “Tetanus arm”. πŸ™‚

Oh what fun layouts! I just adore that first one, so bright and fun! Yikes about the shot! I always feel bad for my babies, making them get their shots. The dreaded yearly….its on my list and I keep putting it off. Hate going to those, especially with two kids in tow.

  23. OUCH!!!! about the shot…
Love your layouts they are so bright and fun…
We love Jack Johnson in our house too.. I just might have to pick up that cd for DH for fathers day he will love it…
    thanks for the tip…

  24. I had to get a tetanus shot last year after I cut my finger when I was opening a can. I can totally feel your pain, girl. Those shots are awful! I went to do my Zumba class the next day & when it came to doing anything with my arms, my “shot” arm was essentially useless. Finally I just held a weight in the good arm & still could barely lift my bad arm up. Sheesh. What’s up with those things??!

LOVE the new fun, colorful & happy LO’s. That’s why I love your style so much! πŸ™‚

  25. Sorry to hear, hope you feel better soon…

    Love the projects…

  26. Oh ouch! Hope it’s better now. I love the Maui story…furbabies can be so funny, can’t they?
