food poisoning and all.

I love Fridays, and I love weekends! …but before I talk about the weekend, I wanted to recap some memories from the week, food poisoning and all.

Earlier this week, we thought it would be fun to visit Rebekah, Gloria’s sister. Maui and Hilo love driving over to Auntie Rebekah’s house. Cousins, Mina and Milo, have fun toys to play with.

...so which dog is the culprit?! Bet you can't guess. 😉

If you thought it was Hilo, you were right, hehe.

Here's one of Maui and Hilo's cute cousins!

"Mommy doesn't want my face to get sun burned!"

Too cute! These pups always know how to put a smile on my face. Hopefully, they put a smile on your face too.

On top of all of the fun toys, Auntie Rebekah also has pool in the backyard! Maui and Hilo are still learning how to swim, but with the help of a life vest, they are getting better at it.

"I'm going to give this another try!"

"Me too, Maui! Bring on the pool!"

"I'm going to need a lot of practice this summer."

"Don't let me go! This is scary!"

…so I don’t know what’s cuter — the dogs playing in the house or swimming in the pool?!

On Wednesday, we met up with Sean and his girlfriend, Ashley, in the city. We decided to eat at Frjtz, which is known for their specialty fries and dips. I love their fries and crepes, so I have no idea why I ordered a burger. ((I don’t really eat meat, unless it’s chicken.))

It turns out that the burger didn’t sit too well in my system, and now I’m suffering from food poisoning. 😦 Sean ordered a burger too, and he’s not sick! It must be because I’m not used to eating beef. Bwech! Just thinking about it makes me feel sick. 😦

After the nasty burger, I needed to clean my palette with something sweet. We went to the amazing Bi-Rite Creamery. Do you want delicious?! You have to try this place out.

Here's some proof of this delicious-ness!

Sean and Ashley totally enjoyed their sundae.

...and we enjoyed ours! YUMMY!

I’m still recovering from the food poisoning. Argh! However, in the meantime, here’s a couple of sneak peeks of an altered project I created for my local scrapbook store:

Oh, and before I forget, there’s a winner to the Punky Sprouts book! The lucky winner to this giveaway is…

Congrats! You are totally going to love your Punky Sprouts book. Please claim your prize by emailing me at redoaklines@gmail.com!

I also wanted to pass on some information. There’s a sneak peek to some new Zutter products being released this summer at CHA. It can be found over at the Bind-It-All blog. Head on over here for your chance to win some Hang-it-Alls.

“What’s that?” you ask.

Check out the below project I created using Hang-it-Alls and some pretty Urban Swank paper. I don’t remember if I shared this one already, so if I did, here it is again, hehe. 😉

What do you think?! If you like it, it’s for sale for only $15. All proceeds go to my AIDS Walk fundraising goal. Email me at redoaklines@gmail.com if you are interested or if you have any questions. Think of it as being ART from moi. 🙂

Oh, and don’t forget that you only have a couple more days to enter the current challenge over at TAAFOMFT. Check it out here. There are sooooo many prizes to be given away in honor of our publication in ScrapStreet this month, so make sure to join us!

Now, I’m off to drink more fluids. This food poisoning is totally kicking my butt!

Happy Friday.

PS: Go, Brazil! 🙂

Hope you are feeling better! wow! the furkids sure had a fun day – lots of friends, toys, and even the pool. Love the simplicity and colors of the wallhanging. Have a super weekend!

  2. Sean

Yes! I finally made it back onto Red Oak Lines! You’re an awesome sister Sarah, and thanks for meeting up with Ashley and I on Wednesday.

P.S. Wish me luck. I’m about to drive down to San Diego right now. Come visit soon!

    • call me when you get down there… 🙂

    • GRAMMAR COP!

You should have written the following:

“…and thanks for meeting up with Ashley and me on Wednesday.”

“I” is a subjective pronoun, thus is is used as the subject of a sentence. When using yourself as the object (or objects), you use the objective pronoun “me.”

The pronouns “we” and “us” are the plural forms. Had you used those incorrectly, you sentence would read something like this:

“You’re an awesome sister Sarah, and thanks for meeting up with we on Wednesday.”

  3. Oh Sarah I am glad to hear that you are feeling better.. I really love the Hang it alls… ohhh the possibilites….

  6. Ooh, hope you feel better!! I eat meat, but since I’ve been having problems I’ve laid off of any eating out….so if I do eat out, the only thing my stomach can handle is Chik-Fil-A and I think it’s just because they cook their stuff in peanut oil instead of regular oils! But yeah, anything greasy right now I have to definitely stay away from…mostly why I have been cooking everything I eat at home…and eating lots and lots of salads:) But that’s a good thing for me cuz I think I could eat a salad with every meal and be just fine!!! I LOVE THEM! Lovely sneaks and I can’t wait to see the rest. Love, JEss

  18. Last time I had red meat was in college. And I distinctly remember getting dizzy & feeling like I was going to throw up awhile later. The only thing I could attribute it to, was the burger. I think it was at that point that I said NO MORE. Hope you feel bettter soon! Funny thing is, the only time I had food poisoning was after eating CHICKEN at a restaurant. Don’t even want to THINK about why it happened. Gross.

    🙂
