paper-filled weekend.

Yeah, yeah… Just because I spent the majority of my weekend with paper, does not mean that you can poke fun at me. 😉 As a matter of fact, it was some great times with friends! What’s even better is that I got a lot done!

Friday, I finished a mini album sample for Punky Sprouts. I was asked to play with Surf’s Up by Best Creations, and if you haven’t seen it before, you are going to love the glitter to these papers. They look great! When I started this mini album, I didn’t have any photos to work with, so Suzy gave me some of her beach photos.

Can you believe that I actually finished a mini album at a crop!? …but then again, I was there until a little past midnight, haha!

Early Saturday morning, I was forced to wake up and head on over to Suzy‘s place. We needed to leave early for the Kick Off Crop at the grand opening of Art Inspired Studios! It was a drive, but we made it early to help set up. The store looks AMAZING! It’s beautiful, and I’m so happy for Diana and Patti. ((Congratulations, girls!))

I got around to finishing the mini album that I will be teaching at their store at the beginning of August. It features Echo Park Paper and Zutter. If you like what you see, I hope to see some of you there!

Remember These Moments of Love. Saturday, August 7th @ 2 – 4 pm. $25, everything included.

Cute mini album, right?! 🙂  The colors to these papers are so bright and fresh, and it’s great for all those summer photos! …and no, it’s not just limited to using pet photos!

As for the Kickoff Crop, it was a blast! Great company, awesome store, and a Canon rep?! It can’t get any better than that. Gina, a Canon representative, came to the store, and she allowed us to print photos of all sizes for free! I went picture happy, and I stocked up on photos, hehe. Anyway, here are some photos from the event:

I told you it was a GORGEOUS store! If you are in the Brentwood area, make sure to head on over there. They have tons of new product that you are all going to LOVE. Besides, supporting local scrapbook stores helps the industry in more ways than you know. You always hear about stores shutting down, but you hardly hear about them opening up. Shop local to prevent stores from having to close their doors.

See! I told y’all it was a productive fun-filled paper weekend. I even finished a couple of layouts, which I’ll save for a future post.

…and I picked a random winner to a Punky Sprouts book.

Congrats, karin! You’re gonna have a lot of fun designing  with this one. Email me at to claim your prize.

Happy Sunday!

PS: Who’s watching the World Cup?! If you are, who are you cheering for?!

Oh, and last night I got another email requesting for one of my projects to be published in an upcoming magazine! I can’t wait to see that one in print too.

Your minis are just wonderful!!!! and that shop looks great! We don’t have any LSS anywhere near where I live. I hope you wore your apron to the Crop! Have a great week and congrats on the future pub!!!!!

  3. Congrats on the Pub. Love the new store, looks like fun. The new mini is adorable.

The new projects are great and congrats on the latest publication. That’s wonderful news. I’m so jealous. We have no LSS here either. I’m stuck going to the chain craft stores and they don’t have a big selection at all.

Wow these mini’s are wonderful! I agree those bight cheerful papers are just breathtaking! They make me happy! We n longer have any local scrapbook stores. {{{sad face}}} – so I am so JEALOUS!!!!!

  6. wow, a lot of you gals have no local stores. 😦 do you all shop online then?

    • Lisa D(pdrnc)

Yes, online or just buy whatever they have in the stores. I went to a scrapbook expo in New Jersey and thought I was in heaven. I spent the first hour walking in circles not knowing where to look first. I can’t wait until it comes back next year.

    ¡Hola Sarah!
Preciosos tus minis!!! ¡¡¡Y esa tienda me encanta!!!!

  18. DARLING mini & NO, I cannot believe you finished it at a crop! That is awesome! 🙂

    CUTE store, too!

  19. My goodness you are crazy busy and still manage to be productive! I can’t believe you finished an entire mini at a crop! I went to a crop on Saturday and only got the cover of mine done…ha!

Your projects are amazing as always! You totally rock the minis 🙂

  20. I’m watching World Cup! It’s pretty much how I start my mornings. I’m cheering for the US, Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands. (The first one is obvious, the next two are because Mike has spent extensive time there, and the last one is for some of the Fave Things girls).

I’m proud of you for finishing a mini at a crop! Man, that crop looks fun! And congrats on another pub!!! 🙂
