Week Two: progress (and giveaway)!

I’m not sure about “the numbers” this week, but mentally, I’ve achieved stability in this battle. Instead of worrying about “the numbers”, I thought I would write about my experiences in Week Two.

  • The gym! It’s become a routine.
  • I make an effort to put in at least two miles everyday.
  • I eat healthier.
  • I gave up all forms of empty calories (soda and junk food).
  • Vegetables and fruits have become my friend.
  • I have dropped a size in clothing.
  • If not working out, I dance around the house to burn calories. It’s actually a fun way to exercise.
  • Water is crucial. I make sure to drink enough to keep my body satisfied.
  • Eating is a must. Without food, your body has no fuel to lose the weight you want to.
  • It’s okay to enjoy life by going out to eat every once in a while. However, when you pick restaurants, take a quick glance at their nutritional information to see if it’s something you want to eat.
  • Giving your body a rest is a must. If you overdo it, it’s harder for your body to burn those calories.

As you can see, I have altered my lifestyle in just two weeks. It was a rough start, but now, I’ve got a good grip on everything. Giving up the junk food was kind of tough during the first week, but now, I don’t even think about eating it anymore. I’m the same way with the gym too. I go because I want to not because I have to.

There’s definitely progress on my end. Everyday, I feel like I am moving closer towards my goal.

  4. EVERY point you made is the absolute right attitude to have!!!! You know, losing a dress size is what to focus on…because we all know that muscle weighs more than fat, so sometimes the number on the scale really doesn’t tell the true story! It’s when I feel my waistband getting more snug that I know I have to cut back some πŸ™‚

  8. Go you! Lost a clothing size? That’s fantastic! You’re going to end up as one of those “I did it!” women in Fitness magazine!! Thanks for the tips, too – I’m trying to lose a few pounds myself and eating off a salad plate instead of those huge dinner plates is very helpful for portion control.

  10. It would be a struggle for me to exercise every day, but to give up Dr. Pepper would be a huge challenge. I did it each time I was pregnant, but I knew I would get it back eventually! I applaud your perseverance! BTW-Voted again!

    You reminded me of a Grateful Dead concert I went to many years ago … the concert goers did not walk around … they danced around the arena! So … keep on dancing around the house and just enjoy!

I’m so happy for you and your progress, I’ve been wanting to get into better shape and better health after having my third child two years ago and it’s so hard finding the time for myself but I’ve decided that little choices make a difference too so more water, less soda to start with and healthier eating for me too…thanks so much for the inspiration! πŸ™‚

    I’m impressed! I can not stick to a work out…I start and then quit. I eat better sometimes but give into the bad stuff. I try to lose weight and end up gaining. Congrats on your accomplishment!

    Oh girly I am so there with you! I have been working for 3 weeks on loosing weight! At then beginning of the summer though I started running 5K’s! It helped me stay motivated to keep moving and now I am battling the eating issue! Keep up the great work!

    I went on a reduced carb plan about 5 months ago… I limit my carbs to 50 or less a day… I also committed to avoiding fried foods, most empty calories (excluding bits of chocolate here and there!), and to get moving. I was so shocked at the improvement I felt from only 1 week without soda, junk, and garbage in my system… I have bad days, but the end result knowing I’m getting on the right track is soooo rewarding!
