wii fit and random layouts.

Have you ever played the Wii and exercised at the same time?! Well, I have.

We finally picked up a copy of Wii Fit Plus, and it’s totally kicking my booty.

It tracks weight, BMI, calories burned while playing, and so much more! I especially like that you can customize your “workout” to target your weaknesses. Anyway, if you ever get bored of going to the gym, this is a fun way to exercise. It really does burn calories. 😉

On a completely different note, I wanted to share a few of the recent design projects that I finished.

I went Dear Lizzy happy on this page; I can’t help that American Crafts has some really cute products on the market, hehe!

In all honesty, this layout took me less than 15 minutes to make. The design is simple, and it’s one that can be easily replicated. …so give it a try and see what you can come up with!

Last but not least, here’s a fun layout that I created using the August kit from My Paper Tree House:

As you can see, August’s kit is jammed packed with Echo Park Paper. It’s definitely some cute stuff! …and although the design on this looks more complex than my first layout, it only took me less than 30 minutes to create. No joke, either! That’s the best part about kits – everything is already picked out and ready for you to use.

Yup, if you haven’t already noticed, I’m all about the fast and easy scrapbooking.

How long does it usually take you to finish a layout?

  1. I wish I were a fast scrapper but I’m not. It can take me hours to do a page!

  2. I love fast pages! Although I do have to say that I can never seem to make them myself, lol. 😉

    Wii Fit rocks!
    – April

  3. I am all about the fast scrapping too! If it takes me more than 30 minutes then it’s not fun anymore:) I have been thinking we need to get Wii Fit….thanks for the nudge to try it. Happy Thursday:)

  4. I saw that you’re a fave over at Sketchy Thursdays this week!

  5. Oh I have been wanting the Wii Fit since we got the kids the console for xmas… I can’t afford to get it right now… other priorities come first..but I will deffinetly be getting it, maybe Santa will bring it this xmas.

Love the lo’s I wish I can quick scrap, but it takes me forever to put a page together! Ugh! thats why I am so so far behind.

  7. Kick the wii fit BACK!! 🙂 cute layouts!!!

  8. WONDERFUL layouts! I guess it depends on what I’m doing with my layout. Last night it took me a while because I did a lot of sewing. If I have a vision with paper and pictures it doesn’t take me very long–probably under 45 minutes.
HMMM. Wii fit plus? we have the original, that might be an investment in the future! 🙂

  9. Hey Sarah! Did you have the first Wii Fit? I have that one and wonder how different the second? Or the one you have?? Super stellar pages! 🙂

  10. Great layouts! If I have a sketch and some fun papers, I can do a layout in 30 minutes, but some layouts take all day… (none of them look like that though)! Anyway, I love the Wii for exercise though I haven’t done it in a long time…

    I love the cuteness! ADORABLE!

  12. I love our Wii Fit Plus! My fave game is Super Hula Hoop!

  13. It takes me forever to make one page. And the cards are the same. *blush* I wish I had your talent but maybe one of these days it will just all sink in.

  14. Mustangkayla

We have Wii Active and I learned quickly I couldn’t do it. I have week knees and they do way to many squats for me!

    Cute layouts!

  15. I haven’t tried that wii game – I’ll have to add it to the list! Love the layouts — too cute of course!! 🙂

It usually takes me 1-3 hours to finish a lo. Oh, and congrats on getting a runner-up spot over at Two Peas’ LYB Challenge! I really liked your layout 🙂

  17. Once I have the idea a design of the layout in my head and then my products picked out that I’m going to use it usually takes about a half an hour to an hour to churn out my pages…I like to use lots of border punches and create handmade embellies so that takes up most of the time but it’s not too bad. And yes, my kids and I LOVE playing the Wii and Wii Fit Plus is one of our favs, another fav is Wii Resort Sports, if you haven’t tried that one it’s pretty fun, a few things will give you a workout on there as well!! Have a great one 🙂

  18. My 1 year old naps for 2 hours a day and I usually create 3 layouts during that time.

  19. callista

I have the wii fit but sadly have never used it. I did however get on the treadmill for 30 mins the other night and that was HUGE for me! 😉
    Love the layouts!

  20. Pam

I take forever on layouts! I hem and haw over each paper, photo, trim, etc. etc. etc. It drives me crazy, but I can’t seem to break out of the habit!

  21. Sometimes I can crank the layouts out and sometimes it takes for-ever! Typically it takes me about 1 1/2 hours per layout. Just depends. And that is usually without sitting and thinking about journaling if I have extensive journaling to do.

  22. Love the layouts. Wish I could be a quick scrapper, but I guess my style just isn’t that. I envy yours…wonder if I could change? I love the wii fit…except for the mii it made…I don’t want a fat me. of course, i guess that is what i get. lol

  23. Takes me way too long. I have to think and think and think. SO wish I were faster.

  24. Su C.

I love the layouts! Nope, slow scrapper here, I’m very much a beginner!

  25. i love, love WIIFIT! my kiddos love it, too! oh you just gave me an inspiration to scrap my kids playing the WII fit. i’m pretty sure i can snap some good fun photos of them. on the other hand, i am a very slow, detailed scrapper. it usually takes me 2-4 hours scraping one LO. it’s fun though i love that feeling when my creativity is really flowing. i love both of your LO’s their simple and i love the colors. i wish i could scrap as fast as you can. have a good day!

  26. Wow…those are some rockin’ speedy pages you created. I envy you and the Wii Fit. I’ve played it, but don’t have my own!! Hope you’re having a great week Sarah 🙂

  27. Well, sometimes it can take an entire day to finish one page. And I do not exaggerate. Other times, I’m happy if it only took an hour or two…

Have neve tried Wii Fit, but have played some of Bryn’s Wii games. She can definitely kick my butt… 😉

  28. I have the plain wii fit and its great. You can really lose track of time and doesn’t feel like you are exercising. And after baby #2 I could use lot of it.
Love AC. one of my favorite manufactures.

Hey there, Sarah! How are you, girly? Love, love, love your fun layouts. What cool designs! I adore the blocked design on your first page. Such an eye catching way to arrange photos. I need to do more of those kinds of pages……although first I should just start with actually doing some pages. 😉 Seems I don’t do very many these days.
Love the circles on your second page and the photo layout, too. Those circles are a fabulous way to use a lot of patterns on a page, which is something I really like.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

My daughter has wanted the WII Fit and I think I will get it for Christmas. 15-30 minutes LO???? It takes me hours!! I am so slow.

  31. I love your pages, and I too love kits for the same reason!!! Most of the thinking is done for you!
We do not have the Wiifit, but it is on the Christmas List(:
I too, am on a weight loss track, for real this time! LOL
    Have a happy weekend! Hugs!
    p.s. Congrats on MYLYB!!!! Wooohooo!

  32. uh we have had this conversation…you KNOW I scrap slow!!!!! hugs, K

  33. love your family layout it’s way cute.

  34. I’m getting much better at making layouts quickly…I’m down to under an hour for most of them. Btw…really like the Spring layout. It seems different for you, but it’s really great!

And I really like the idea of wii fit. If only I could convince my husband that we need a wii… 🙂

  35. I have been wanting to get the wii fit plus. If its kicking your butt then I need to go get it for me….hahaha Love the los too!

  36. Love your layouts! Beautiful designs as ever!
