Last weekend, we were out on another adventure. This time, we wanted to celebrate Gloria’s 30th doing something new and exciting. Alas, we used up our free rental car days and drove (and drove and drove some more). Eventually, we made it down to Las Vegas.
The last time I was in Vegas was years ago. It must have been over 15 years since the last time I was there. It’s definitely changed from what I remember, lots of new hotel and resorts. Anyway, we spent the day walking in and out of the hotels and shops on the Strip.
…but the final destination on this trip was not Vegas. We wanted to visit Zion National Park. We had never been, but we’ve seen its beauty and magnificence in pictures. We had to see it with our own eyes, so we trekked through Nevada to get to Arizona.
Then we drove (and drove some more) through Arizona to get to Utah, where Zion is located. This was my first time in the state of Utah!
The park is even more beautiful in person. …and yes, I brought my National Park Passport book to get the cancellation stamp!
There are numerous National Parks, all of which are gorgeous in their own way. There are still so many I haven’t seen, but I’m glad to say I can cross this one off of my list.
Needless to say, it was a fantastic road trip. Spent lots of quality time together with the birthday girl, and I’m honored to have spent her 30th birthday with her!
