i create.

In the past couple of days, I have played with the September kit from the Sampler Kit Club, and I went to town with it. Here’s what I’ve been working on recently:

…and I even got a mini album in the works. This kit has really inspired me. 🙂

There’s still lots of craftiness on the table, so you’ll most likely be seeing more from moi. Besides, I have to write a blog post about our adventure to the pumpkin patch today. We took lots of fun colorful pictures to share (and scrapbook, too!)

Happy Monday!

two weeks behind: amy & kelly + easter recap.

A couple of weekends ago, we had the pleasure of hosting our friends, Amy Tan and Kelly Purkey over at Our Paper Place. Amy had fun teaching at the shop late last year, and it was Kelly’s first time visiting, so we hoped for a fun-filled and energetic weekend. Sure enough, it was just that. Everyone that had registered for the workshops seemed incredibly excited to have the girls in town. Creating, wonderful friends, and great weather — I really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect weekend.

Here are some of the photos from our Kelly and Amy workshop event:

I can’t believe that I used to design with both these gals on AC; they’re way too talented for me!

Group photo. I think we might be missing someone in this picture?!

It was so good to see you, Tricia! You know I heart you. 🙂

Amy sharing her very own tricks and tips to scrapbooking!

Kelly letting everyone play with paints, sprays, and stamps.

Thank you again, girls, for coming to hang out! We really enjoyed your company, and it was so nice to see both of you again. Hopefully, we’ll see you two in Chicago.

If you missed these workshops, the shop does have their kits available for purchase. Call the shop for more details, or feel free to contact me directly for more information.

On to Easter Sunday… Easter came and went in a blink of an eye, but that’s not going to stop me from documenting my Easter weekend with a blog post. With my busy schedule, I haven’t been out to the Sacramento area in months, so it was finally time to visit family.

We had an Easter brunch with delicious food cooked up by the best chef in the world, my mom! After dining on Mom’s cooking, it was time for the annual Easter egg hunt. Five kids, two dogs, and a whole bunch of hidden eggs made for one entertaining event. It seems that every year, the egg hunt gets bigger and bigger.

Now, I’d say that aside from Christmas, Maui’s next favorite holiday is Easter. She loves hunting down the hidden eggs because she knows we load treats in there for them. This year, she was Khiara’s sidekick, helping her scope out a handful of eggs.

Hilo, on the other hand, just spent his time looking for food. He’s definitely not into helping the kids look for eggs; he much rather scope out treats for himself. 😉

The kids also had fun decorating a carton of eggs. Unfortunately, I wasn’t around when they colored the eggs, but I still enjoyed looking at their creativity. It’s amazing to watch someone’s creativity shine through in what they make.

One of my favorite parts about our Easter gathering was our adorable deviled eggs. How can you not smile when you see these little chick-a-dees?!

Can you believe this?! That’s more than one post in a week! Something must be wrong, hehe. 😉 Just kidding. Hopefully, I’ll be back very soon with more updates.

wedding, seattle, and scrapbook stuff.

I don’t even know where to begin. It’s been about a hundred years since my last post?! I truly have no words as to why I’ve been such a bad blogger; I really need to make time in my busy schedule to write and document my everyday. Perhaps, I should jump on that Project Life bandwagon. Oh, who am I kidding?!

Hmm, where do I start? I suppose my February excursions are a start. There was a lot of traveling in February.

We packed up and headed down to Dana Point for our good friends’ wedding. Each and every one of her details were beautifully planned. It was definitely an event to remember. Again, a huge congratulations to the beautiful couple, Erica and Joe! We can’t wait to share many more memories together with you two.

March has come and gone, and I managed to go without bloggin’ very much. 😉 I’m a huge fan of March because it’s my birthday month. Instead of celebrating at home, we headed to Seattle, Washington for the weekend. It’s incredibly gorgeous, and I seriously wouldn’t mind moving up to the Pacific Northwest. We took hundreds of photos, but here’s a handful of the memorable ones:

Handful?! More like double handful. Yeah, there’s tons more too, but it would take me way too long to get them all uploaded for a blog post. I’ve been definitely getting stuff put onto pages though, and I have actually created a mini album using Amy‘s new Daybook.

I love the Daybook concept because it’s easy to work with. You can basically scrapbook on the go! Add photos and embellish your heart out. Besides, it’s a lot of fun.

…and while I was at it, I created a layout with my leftovers! Love Amy’s stuff. If you’re in the area, come check it out over at Our Paper Place.

Not only is Amy a fabulous designer and teacher, she’s also an awesome friend! I have pictures from our Amy & Kelly workshops, so keep your fingers crossed that I get back on track with bloggin’! Stay tuned.

happy ♥ day.

Happy ♥ Day, everyone! If you haven’t seen this on Google already, you should totally watch it. It’s adorable.

As for me, the only plans I have tonight are staying at home with my favorite hooligans. 😉 Nothing too special or too fancy. Just plain, boring everyday stuff. Besides, that’s the stuff that matters most to me.

On a different note, I have been so busy at work that I haven’t had the chance to blog very much. Boxes upon boxes loaded with tons of new products from CHA keep getting delivered to the shop.  However, that doesn’t stop me from creating. I’ve finished a handful of projects.

Here’s one using Authentique‘s Genuine line:

The denim color of this paper is beautiful, and the texture and thickness of the paper itself is so scrap worthy! I couldn’t create with just one line. Here’s a layout using Authentique‘s Celebrate line:

I love the woodgrain background, the bright pops of color, and the cute graphics on these papers. It’s definitely a great stack of stuff to scrapbook with.

Teresa Collin‘s new Everyday Moments line came into the shop too. This has to be one of the most gorgeous lines I have ever seen. I love the deep navy blues with the hints of yellow. Here’s a mini album that I created using the Zutter Bind-it-All:

My favorite part about this album is the acrylic bird/birdcage by Clear Scraps.

*swoon* I love how this one turned out!

Anyway, I thought I’d post some of the recent ones. I just got back from Hambly, so look for lots of their new stuff in some of my upcoming projects. Yippee!

tick tock. tick tock.

Is it crazy for me to want the clock to slow down every now and then?! If I could have it my way, I’d slow the clock down when I’m sleeping. That way, I could get a full night’s rest, haha! …but we all know, it can’t be done. The clock continues to tick away.

The clock indicates that it’s about time for me to share some projects that I worked on this weekend at my birthday crop. ((I’m surprised I even got anything done with all the fun that I had.))

Here’s a mini album that I created using the ever-so-cute Neighborhood line from Crate Paper:

…and a birthday project had to be created!

What do you think of this fun paper?! It’s one of the latest Basic Grey‘s releases, Life of the Party. I think it’s super fun, and I’m totally a fan on those silly moustaches, haha!

Tick tock. The clock tells me that it’s time for me to pick a winner from the American Crafts Blog Hop this past weekend! …and the album kit goes to:

Congratulations to Aimee K! Please shoot an email to redoaklines@gmail.com to claim your prize! Thanks to everyone else who joined us. 🙂

Tick tock. The clock now tells me that I need to continue working on some samples that I have in mind for the store. I plan on playing with Hambly, Crate Paper, and American Crafts!
