It’s hard to believe that it’s been about a year since I was asked to be on the American Crafts design team. Seriously, I still can’t believe I got to spend a year creating with such an amazing company. At the end of this month, my term will come to close, and I will surely miss working with everyone at American Crafts.

However, just like the saying goes, “When one door closes, another one opens.” With that thought in mind, I received some fantastic news! I’ve been ask to design for Authentique!

Umm, hello?! How could I not?!

I carry all of their lines at Our Paper Place, and I absolutely love the color palettes to their collections. The overall shabby chic style of this company’s paper is beyond anything I’ve ever designed with, so this is definitely going to be a challenge. …but it’ll be a good challenge for me! Every now and then, people need to breathe fresh air, right?!

…and last but not least, I wanted to congratulate all of the other talented ladies who are now designing for Authentique! Read about it over here.

Look for some new Authentique greatness in the near future. ๐Ÿ˜‰

girls gone wild.

Yeah. Wild night, that’s for sure! And lots of good memories, too. Hence, the Zoology paper from Bo Bunny. I love that it’s not just limited to photos taken at the zoo. It can be used for a ton of different things. I had so much fun playing with the “wild” patterns to this collection.

I thought it was pretty nifty that Scrapbook News and Review asked me to be a featured artist.

They asked me to share a snippet on something scrapbooking related, so I wrote a short little article on scrapbooking your pets. Go figure, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you’re interested in reading my article and want to see some fun layouts, click here.

Okay that’s it. Have a wonderful Friday night. ๐Ÿ˜‰

layout and bridesmaids.

ARGH! Let me just tell you that I had a really long blog post ready to go up, and I totally deleted it on accident! Can you sense all of the frustration I’ve got going on right now! It had tons of pictures and everything. ARGH! …so without me being upset over the fact that I just deleted a super long blog entry, I’ll try to remember everything I originally had written.

I know this is gonna be a much shorter blog post because now I’m just frustrated…

I had a wonderful weekend… even with our January weather in June. I’ve been busy trying to plan out my summer, which is booked almost every weekend. I’m not complaining though. I rather have lots to do than nothing at all. Sitting around doing nothing drives me bonkers; hence, I love to scrapbook. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here’s a fun simple layout that I created at last Friday’s crop:

I love this layout because I envisioned this one in my head last week. I wanted to use this specific Hambly rub-on. If you’ve ever used their rub-ons, you’d know that it comes off like butter! Then I used Glazed Brads and Petals from Basic Grey.

Aside from scrapbooking, this past weekend was fabulous. Spent it with fabulous people and had great time with some girlfriends. I also had the chance to go see Bridesmaids.

Holy bleeeeep! It was super funny, and I was in tears from laughing. Some friends were saying that I had to see it, and I’m so glad that I did. It was so funny that I’m thinking of taking some of my girlfriends out to see it with me again. I sense a girls’ night out coming really soon. ๐Ÿ˜‰

…and I even got to see my little cousin. He’s growing up so fast. Look at how adorable he is:

…and here’s just a random photo of Maui from over the weekend. She needs to be groomed *hint, hint*.

Ummm, and that’s all I can remember from my original blog post. It’s a bummer that I don’t have the original post because it was much cooler than this one, so I’ll leave it at that.

PS: I’m gonna make you love my Kate Spade glasses.

orange and more orange.

Tonight, I had an urge to write. Perhaps, it’s because I haven’t been feeling too well, and writing seems to keep me mentally focused. Anyway, here’s to a Saturday post!

Yesterday, we finally had the chance to take our yearly excursion to the Pumpkin Capital, Half Moon Bay. It was crowded, but we still had a wonderful time. Maui and Hilo loved that there was an array of pumpkins to sniff, lol. As a matter of fact, Mr. Naughty Hilo “marked” his favorite pumpkin. How embarassing!? ๐Ÿ˜‰

After the marking incident, we all merrily went our own ways to pick out our pumpkins. Maui and Hilo were eager to go after the smaller ones.

However, Mommy had to direct them to a more suitable size for carving.

…and here’s the 2010 batch of pumpkins, which we can’t wait to carve:

After the pumpkin patch, Maui and Hilo decided that they needed to have playtime at the beach. Well, we couldn’t resist their sweet little faces, so we took them to the coast to run off leash. Boy, did they have a blast! See that curved trail of paw prints?! Those are the crazies running all the way to Gloria (she’s the human speck in the distance). Maui and Hilo are those tiny little dots on the left, hehe.

…and after running back and forth (a million times), they decided to catch their breath with Mommy.

After spending some time at the beach, we thought it would be adventurous to hit up another pumpkin patch, one where you could pick them right from the field. We were in the Pumpkin Capital of the world, so why not go to one more, right?! ๐Ÿ˜‰ The next patch had livestock too! I had such a blast feeding the smelly (but cute) piglets.

It’s always nice to get fresh air every now and then. It made my day just to be outdoors. Sometimes, just going out can put a smile on someone’s face.

After excavating the entire patch, we found one of the biggest pumpkins in the patch. Goodness, it was HEAVY! Gloria couldn’t lift it, so I thought, “What the heck?! You’re so weak!” Then, I gave it a go, but guess what happened?!

…it was heavier than it looked. Sheesh! I guess I’m just as weak as Gloria, haha! ๐Ÿ˜‰

…and to think, this is a super small one compared to the heaviest pumpkin they weighed in this year for the annual Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival.

Oh, what a joyous and festive October day. Days like these, I never want to forget.

Now, for the scrapbook updates…

Today, my class went well. I love when the students are lively and upbeat. It’s so fun and inspiring to watch others create. That’s another reason why I love this art from – it’s all about inspiring others to be artistic!

Lastly, did you know that I’m the guest designer of the month for Nikki Sivils?! If not, check out my latest work using some of Nikki’s latest releases. Today’s post was all about ME, so if you have an extra minute to spare, head on over there to leave some love. In the meantime, here’s one of the layouts that I created:

The above layout features her Blueberry Hill line. To see the rest, head on over to Nikki’s blog!

Okay, that’s enough writing for tonight. It felt good to write whatever came to mind. I love that about blogging; it’s like creating – therapeutic. ๐Ÿ˜‰

PS: Have any of you seen the November/December 2010 issue of Creating Keepsakes?! I have a few layouts in there, but I haven’t seen it yet. If you have a copy ofย  it, do my layouts look okay? ๐Ÿ˜‰

scrapbooking and my challenge.

I got to spend time creating in my scrap room yesterday, which was definitely a stress reliever. I finished a handful of projects, but I can’t share the majority of them until later. I do, however, have a couple of layouts that I get to post today. Yeehaw! Are you ready to see them!?

First up, I got my hands on some of the latest from Prima! I cut out the pocket, and I placed some notes and photos inside. I thought it would be a great way to store extra photos and journaling onto a page.

What do ya think? Cute, right?!

My second layout was all about using my Cricut. I cut up all of the flowers and the “Make a Wish” title with the Sweet Treats cartridge.ย  Doesn’t it all come together with Imaginisce‘s Birthday Bash line?!ย  …and I even used my irock to add some bling.

On another note, I’m such a dork because I still get excited to see my work in printed publications, hehe. Here are a couple that I wanted to share:

In the September 2010 issue, Scrapbook Trends shared two of my layouts. …so if you get your hands on this copy, make sure to take a peek at my work.

I also have a layout published in the current issue of Scrapbooking and Beyond Magazine. In case you’re wondering, it’s the Fall 2010 issue. There are a ton of other awesome projects in there, so make sure to pick up your copy!

In regards to my personal challenge, the first couple of days trying to adjust to this new lifestyle was tough, but I’m still alive, haha! Besides, in the long run, it’ll be good for my overall health. I’ve been working out everyday and eating healthier, so I’m still on track. *pat on my back for being good* With all of your wonderful support and encouragement, I honestly think I’ll be able to hit my goal on schedule. I’ll keep everyone up to date on my progress or regression.

Are any of you currently challenging yourself? If so, I want to hear all about it.
