Tag Archives: bind it all

TGIF!

For some reason, this week went by slow for me, excruciatingly slow. Seriously, it was painful waiting for the weekend to arrive because I anticipated heading to the beach. Sometimes, I think I should just live there. Eh, a girl can always dream, right?! šŸ˜‰

As for my creativity, there hasn’t been much creating on my end. *coughslackercough* I tried working last night, but I just didn’t have any creative spark in me. Hopefully soon, I’ll find inspiration to get back into the groove of things. In the meantime, I thought I’d share a Jillibean Soup layout that I finished earlier this week.

I decided to use one of the first techniques I learned when I started scrapbooking – layering. It’s a simple and great way to add texture to your project. When you’re stuck in a creative rut, layer. I promise you’ll come out with something brilliant. Plus, it allows for colors and patterns to pop off your page!

I also finished a quick and easy mini album that I plan on teaching at Memories Live On. I’m not exactly sure when I’m teaching this class, but I will update that on my Classes page as soon as I confirm all of the details.

It’s a 4×6 mini album that will be featuring products from an upcoming kit from The Sampler, and let’s just say that it’s loaded with a ton of fun Echo Park Paper! I binded my book using my Bind it All by Zutter, of course! All together, it’s a bright and cheery project, wouldn’t you say?! šŸ˜‰

Now, it’s time for me to start gearing up into beach mode. We seriously need to get some rest and relaxation this weekend!

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

happy 2nd birthday, blog!

…so today is actually quite a special day for my blog.

Today marks the 2nd year of my consistent blogging! Can you believe that?! I remember when I was still contemplating whether or not I should write. I was afraid to even get started. I was afraid of sharing my work. Even though it was written for my own personal documentation, I was frightened out of my wits to talk about my everyday life in a public space.

I started writing to pass the rough times in my life. I would have never thought that two years ago I’d be where I am today. My blog has opened up such amazing opportunities to me.

With all of that said, Happy Birthday Red Oak Lines.

In honor of this happy day, I want to do a giveaway of one of Imaginisce‘s exclusive class kits from CHA. It features products from the super cute line, Birthday Bash. Isn’t it fitting for this special occasion?! šŸ˜‰

To enter, just comment to this post sharing a link to one of your favorite blogs. It’s as simple as that! You have until next Sunday, August 15th!

Two events happened this Friday.

1) I went to the local expo and helped at The Sampler Kit Club booth. It was good to see some local familiar faces. Hi, Nancy!

2) I went to crop with a bunch of crazy gals at Scrapbook Territory that very night. It was definitely a wild and crazy time, but I still managed to get some work done, haha! Here are some of our pretend photo booth pictures:

Also at the crop, I was browsing through the August issue of CARDS Magazine. …and guess who’s in it using Imaginisce stuff?!

Yesterday was just as eventful! I headed out to Art Inspired Studios to teach my bind-it-all mini album class. It was definitely a success. I had such a great time with a wonderful group of girls. I even got to meet two of my awesome blog readers, and they were so sweet! Hi Becky and Audra!

With the trending TWO in this post, I thought I’d share two of my recent layouts that I created at the crazy crop from this past Friday. This first layout highlights some of the fun papers from Studio Calico. It’s a simple design, but I love that it shows off some of my favorite photos from my Chicago trip.

The layout posted below uses the latest from Sassafras Lass. I thought the subtle, feminine colors in this Indie Girl line were so pretty. I couldn’t resist the urge to get it down onto a layout.

…and one last time, IĀ  wanted to wish my blog a happy 2nd birthday! Don’t forget to comment to this post for your chance to win those Imaginisce goodies. šŸ™‚

PS: Thank you to everyone for the congratulations on the American Crafts DT. I really, really, really appreciate all of the support and the kind emails, messages, and comments I have been receiving all weekend. Honestly, I still can’t believe it.

rockabye baby

No, I am not pregnant. No, I did not have a baby. I just had to put that out there because I know some are going to question my post title, haha. šŸ˜‰

This BLOG HOP post is dedicated to my fellow Zutter Zister, Sophie. Recently, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. ((Congratulations, Sophie!)) Thus, the rest of the Zutter Zisters thought it would be fun to create baby projects just for her.

Here’s a cute l’il mini album I created using Zutter and Kiki Art products:

Initially, when you look at this project, it doesn’t look much like a mini album. As a matter of fact, it looks more like a card, right? Well, it’s not a card of any sort. The above project is actually a mini album using a Zutter cover-all. Here’s a side view of the mini album:

To bind my inner pages together, I used baby pink owires. Yes, I did say pink owire! In case you did not already know, Zutter has a wide variety of owire colors for all of your future binding projects.

Oh, and just for stopping by and leaving a comment, you are eligible to win a package of baby blue and baby pink owires and a package of cover-alls!

If you want some of these great products, make sure to leave a comment to this post. I will draw a name by Friday, June 25th.

…and if you could please stop by my talented Zutter Zisters’ blogs, that would be wonderful! They also have some fabulous baby projects that you are going to want to check out!

https://redoaklines.com/ **You are here.**

Congrats again, Sophie!

As for my own personal updates, please check back either later today or tomorrow. I had a BUSY, BUSY weekend. I have tons of photos to share; you are all going to love them! šŸ™‚

PS: I’m sure some of you noticed that I haven’t been online much. Again, this is a reminder to all of you that I plan on visiting your blogs as soon as I get the chance to. I have missed keeping up to date with everyone’s posts.

food poisoning and all.

I love Fridays, and I love weekends! …but before I talk about the weekend, I wanted to recap some memories from the week, food poisoning and all.

Earlier this week, we thought it would be fun to visit Rebekah, Gloria’s sister. Maui and Hilo love driving over to Auntie Rebekah’s house. Cousins, Mina and Milo, have fun toys to play with.

...so which dog is the culprit?! Bet you can't guess. šŸ˜‰

If you thought it was Hilo, you were right, hehe.

Here's one of Maui and Hilo's cute cousins!

"Mommy doesn't want my face to get sun burned!"

Too cute! These pups always know how to put a smile on my face. Hopefully, they put a smile on your face too.

On top of all of the fun toys, Auntie Rebekah also has pool in the backyard! Maui and Hilo are still learning how to swim, but with the help of a life vest, they are getting better at it.

"I'm going to give this another try!"

"Me too, Maui! Bring on the pool!"

"I'm going to need a lot of practice this summer."

"Don't let me go! This is scary!"

…so I don’t know what’s cuter — the dogs playing in the house or swimming in the pool?!

On Wednesday, we met up with Sean and his girlfriend, Ashley, in the city. We decided to eat at Frjtz, which is known for their specialty fries and dips. I love their fries and crepes, so I have no idea why I ordered a burger. ((I don’t really eat meat, unless it’s chicken.))

It turns out that the burger didn’t sit too well in my system, and now I’m suffering from food poisoning. šŸ˜¦ Sean ordered a burger too, and he’s not sick! It must be because I’m not used to eating beef. Bwech! Just thinking about it makes me feel sick. šŸ˜¦

After the nasty burger, I needed to clean my palette with something sweet. We went to the amazing Bi-Rite Creamery. Do you want delicious?! You have to try this place out.

Here's some proof of this delicious-ness!

Sean and Ashley totally enjoyed their sundae.

...and we enjoyed ours! YUMMY!

I’m still recovering from the food poisoning. Argh! However, in the meantime, here’s a couple of sneak peeks of an altered project I created for my local scrapbook store:

Oh, and before I forget, there’s a winner to the Punky Sprouts book! The lucky winner to this giveaway is…

Congrats! You are totally going to love your Punky Sprouts book. Please claim your prize by emailing me at redoaklines@gmail.com!

I also wanted to pass on some information. There’s a sneak peek to some new Zutter products being released this summer at CHA. It can be found over at the Bind-It-All blog. Head on over here for your chance to win some Hang-it-Alls.

“What’s that?” you ask.

Check out the below project I created using Hang-it-Alls and some pretty Urban Swank paper. I don’t remember if I shared this one already, so if I did, here it is again, hehe. šŸ˜‰

What do you think?! If you like it, it’s for sale for only $15. All proceeds go to my AIDS Walk fundraising goal. Email me at redoaklines@gmail.com if you are interested or if you have any questions. Think of it as being ART from moi. šŸ™‚

Oh, and don’t forget that you only have a couple more days to enter the current challenge over at TAAFOMFT. Check it out here. There are sooooo many prizes to be given away in honor of our publication in ScrapStreet this month, so make sure to join us!

Now, I’m off to drink more fluids. This food poisoning is totally kicking my butt!

Happy Friday.

PS: Go, Brazil! šŸ™‚
