happy layouts (and cards).

I decided that it was about time for me to use some happy colors in my projects, and I did just that. I was super excited that a shipment of Imaginisce goodies came in the mail today. Look at how cute the Geek Is Chic collection is:

I, of course, had to do a layout about my new glasses, haha! πŸ˜‰ Geeky paper with my geeky face — it’s absolutely perfect! I’m also thrilled that this American Crafts‘ Thickers set has an “@” symbol. I used it as an “A” in my banner instead.

I hadn’t played along with any challenges recently, so I though that this Bo Bunny sketch challenge would be fun to do:

Here’s my take on the above sketch:

I cut up the fun and bright, Ad Lib collection. …and with the leftover scraps from the above layout, I made two cards. Thus, I’ve decided to turn it into a class over at the store. If you’re local and interested in taking this “One 12×12 Layout, Two Cards” class, find all of the details over here.

…and that’s all the creativity I have for today. I plan on working on another layout before the day ends.

On another note, I love that the summertime has more hours of daylight. I get off work, and the sun’s still out. Woot, woot! After work today, I plan to do some grocery shopping. …and if I’m up for it, I’ll go hit up the gym. I know I shouldn’t overdo it because I’m still recovering from last week’s incident, but being sedentary drives me nuts.

PS: I love Thursdays; wish it was “tomorrow” already.

tired, but feeling better.

I’m feeling a lot better than last week. My body is still exhausted, but I’m up and about. I probably shouldn’t be working as hard as I am right now (there’s a lot going on with me besides the store), but I have this crazy passion to create. After a week of seeing everyone’s beautiful projects being posted from CHA, I felt an itch to cut up some paper.

I guess I forgot that scrapbooking makes me sane.

Bo BunnyΒ had sent over some of the latest papers that were released at this past CHA, so I knew these papers were going to be perfect for those photos. I absolutely love all of the flowers on this page.

…and I finally had the chance to play with some of the new Authentique paper. There were only a couple of sheets left at Our Paper Place, so I made sure to grab them before they were gone. πŸ˜‰

Even though this paper is more on the “boyish” side, it’s pretty versatile. Or at least I think so. I love the soft grays to this paper; it’s super pretty! They recently debuted their Halloween and Christmas line, and I can’t wait until we get the shipment in at the store.

On another note, we recently stumbled upon a new park nearby. It has become one of Maui and Hilo’s favorite places to be.

They can seriously play fetch for hours, but I don’t mind if I’m getting some fresh air. πŸ˜‰

…and now that I’ve blogged, I think I’m going to take it easy and rest some more. The more rest, the better. Maybe I’ll actually get to sleep before 10 PM. I don’t think I’ve done that since before high school, haha!

PS: Again, thank you to all who called, texted, emailed, and messaged me last week. All of the get wells and positive vibes made me feel thatΒ much better.

girls gone wild.

Yeah. Wild night, that’s for sure! And lots of good memories, too. Hence, the Zoology paper from Bo Bunny. I love that it’s not just limited to photos taken at the zoo. It can be used for a ton of different things. I had so much fun playing with the “wild” patterns to this collection.

I thought it was pretty nifty that Scrapbook News and Review asked me to be a featured artist.

They asked me to share a snippet on something scrapbooking related, so I wrote a short little article on scrapbooking your pets. Go figure, right? πŸ˜‰ If you’re interested in reading my article and want to see some fun layouts, click here.

Okay that’s it. Have a wonderful Friday night. πŸ˜‰

one sunny april weekend.

The weather has been pretty fantabulous this month. Thus far, the rain hasn’t been dominating our blue sunny skies. Well, with the exception of today and apparently the rest of this week. This past Saturday everyone was out and about, and lots of fun people came to drop into Our Paper Place. I had tons of fun doing make and takes with all of you, especially with the little ones that dropped in to make their mini albums.

For all you local bay area peeps, Our Paper Place will have another make and take soon, so stay tuned for the information on that!

On Sunday, we headed up to the city. It’s been a while since we spent the day gallivanting aimlessly. …so I suggested that we check out the murals out in the Mission. I’ve heard so much about them, but I never had the chance to see them in person. Here are some fun pictures of the murals:

…and because the weather was so nice, we spent time in our patio. Maui and Hilo enjoyed getting to play with their toys. I love that they always pose for my camera, haha!

They’re such hams, and that’s no joke! Hilo especially loves taking pictures. πŸ˜‰ That makes the both of us, haha!

Last but not least, I wanted to share some projects that I created this past Friday.

Tammy, my newest crafty friend, brought some supplies to work on cards for the troops. She told me that Cards 4 Troops was looking for Father’s Day cards to donate, so here are a couple simple ones that I created:

We all know that I’m not much of a cardmaker, but I tried my very best. Hopefully the person who receives it will like it.

My good friend, Lindsay, sent me some cute photos of her and hubby. With me being the scrapbooker that I am, there was no way I was going to pass up a layout! This one is using the Timeless collection from Bo Bunny. It’s not typically the style I would use on a layout, but I actually like the way this layout came out.

…so what do you think?! It’s totally not a “Sarah-kind-of layout”, but I love the elements in this one. If you want to replicate it or see it in person, head into the store! I’d be more than happy to help you recreate it. πŸ˜‰

Okay, that’s my post for today. Now, it’s time for Scrabble and movie night!

“how’ve you been?!”

…so I’m sure everyone’s wondering, “How’ve you been?!” Well, to be quite honest, I’m exhausted. The flu seriously lodged me off of my daily routine! It was truly a horrendous strain to deal with; however, I’m feeling a million times better. I still have this nasty persistent cough, which I now have an inhaler for. Wahoo! I’ve got my fingers crossed that I’ll be 100% soon enough!

As for scrapbook updates, I finished a couple of layouts a couple of weeks ago, so I thought it would be fun to share some of them.

My first layout uses Hello Sunshine, one of the latest lines from American Crafts. Don’t you just love the kraft paper?! I know I do, hehe!

I love this layout for it’s simple design. Seriously, it took me about five minutes to create! …and I created a fun sample layout for the store using the latest from Bo Bunny:

I have to admit that Ad Lib is my favorite line from Bo Bunny‘s lastest release from Winter CHA! Well, yeah… I’m all about the bright and fun colors, haha!

Sometimes, I feel like I’m in a scrapbooking rut. Do you ever feel that way when you design?

What the hecks?! It’s past midnight!? I need to get some sleep! Stay tuned for my St. Patrick’s Day post on Thursday. You’re not going to want to miss that one. Just sayin’. *wink, wink*
