sarah, you’re overdue!

Life has been so hectic, but that’s not gonna stop me from picking a deserving winner to my last giveaway. …but before I pick a winner, I wanted to thank each and every one of you for linking up my new scrapbook store, Our Paper Place. Getting the word out is crucial, so I truly appreciate it. 😉 If you’re ever in the Bay Area, make sure to stop on by. You’ll love it over here!

I also wanted to share some sample projects that I created for Our Paper Place! My first layout is using the oh-so-cute line from Pink Paislee. I love the vibrant colors to these papers!

…and check out this easy way to use up leftover ribbon pieces to make a fun flower:

My second layout uses the pretty, spring line from Echo Park Paper.

Aren’t those butterflies super pretty?! I decided to use these springtime photos of my little cousin, and I’m so glad that I did. It totally matches!

…and that’s all the creativity that I have for today. Now, for the fun stuff! The overdue winner is:

Bobbie, please email me at redoaklines@gmail to claim your prize.

Happy Tuesday, all!

PS: Oh, and if you haven’t already, find my store’s blog over here.

my love affair.

Hopefully, he doesn’t see this, but I’ve got a major crush on my UPS guy. There’s a problem with this love affair though. He isn’t the main guy that delivers stuff to my store; he’s the seasonal UPS worker helping the main UPS guy, and he’s only working up until Christmas! 😦 I guess I can’t complain because I’m lucky enough to get a hot guy delivering my packages to my store temporarily. 😉

He’s tall, soft spoken, and slightly awkward. When I say “awkward”, I mean that in a good way – as in he’s a dorky kind of guy. If you’ve ever met me, you’d know that I’m outgoing and bubbly, so I tend to flock towards the opposite — shy, geeky, dorky people. HAHA! Maybe I make him feel shy when I talk to him?! …or perhaps I’ve got it all wrong, and he’s flirting with me because he thinks I’m the hottest chick-a-dee in the shopping complex?! What?! It’s true — I totally am. I kid!

He did drop off a package and tell me how cool he thinks my store is, haha! 😉

…and just so you all know, I have been ordering more than usual for the store. Why?! Well, because then I get a lovely package from UPS, of course!

I kid, I kid. This is all in fun just so you know. *wink, wink*

Anyway, I wanted to share some of the latest creations by yours truly.

Here’s a project that I quickly whipped up using Dear Lizzy Christmas from American Crafts:

I LOVE the colors to this line. It’s so Christmas-y, hehe. …but then again, I think that’s the point of this Christmas line. 😉

…and did you know that Imaginisce came out with a new paper line called Garden Party!? It’s absolutely GORGEOUS! Yes, I ordered it, so if you’re local, make sure to come into the store to pick it up when we receive it! ((Maybe the UPS guy will drop it off for me, haha!)) Here’s a Punky Sprouts mini album that I created using this line:

Purty paper, huh?! 😉 It’s a spring-y line, but it works with just about everything.

Lastly, Holly gave me the Sampler’s December kit to design with. It’s totally all about Snowflake Kisses! 😉 Check out these two layouts I created using their current kit:

Anyway, I should be getting back to work. I need to finish pricing the latest Echo Park Be Mine stuff that my lover dropped off for me earlier today. 😉 Oh, and speaking of Echo Park, check out this mini album that I created using this line:

Drop into the store to pick up some for your stash. You’ll fall in love with it the way I did with the UPS guy, haha!

*daydreamin’ about the UPS dude*

PS: I seriously hope that he doesn’t know where to find my blog, haha! Besides, he’d have no chance with me. My cute l’il self has already found someone to make my heart flutter. 😉

how do i do it?!

To tell you quite honestly, I’m not even sure how I have managed to get by this past week. Ever since I announced that I was opening Our Paper Place, my phone has been ringing non-stop, the emails are constantly filling my inbox, and I have been on the go, go, go! …and just so you know, I’m holding up just fine. Busy, but keeping my head held high. 🙂

I haven’t been posting much, but I still wanted to share some Halloween memories. This year, Maui and Hilo decided that they wanted to be matching sea turtles. ((Okay fine… I admit. I was the one who wanted them to wear it, haha.)) Here are some photos that I snapped of them wearing their costumes:

Okay, so have you seen turtles cuter than this?! I think not! 😉

Oh, and because I can’t go without sharing something scrapbook related… have you checked out the Imaginisce blog recently?! Echo Park Paper challenged us Imaginisce designers to use their papers showcasing the irock and itop. Well, we definitely showed Echo Park how it was done! 😉 Here’s the layout I created:

Awesomeness, right?! Make sure to check out the rest of the projects that we came up with! Hopefully, you’ll feel inspired to create something fun. Also, if you are interested in being a part of the Imaginisce design team, you’ll want to read up on that too on their blog. They’re an awesome manufacturer, so TRY OUT! Besides, it never hurt to try. 😉

…and if you want to know more about my new store opening up towards the end of this month (November 26th to be exact), make sure to follow along over at Our Paper Place. You’ll be able to see current events and classes, as well as sign up for them!

PS: Thank you to those who have sent me such encouraging emails about my weight loss. I’ve been noticing the difference in clothing size, so I’m definitely happy about that! 😉

hambly’s halloween event!

Last night was way too much fun! The turn out to Hambly‘s Spooktacular event was great, and I got to see friends that I hadn’t seen in a while. I managed a Halloween make and take using Hambly products, of course. …and Mr. Hambly and the rest of his crew are all so amazingly kind!

Suzy went as “Facebook” and her daughter, Sierra, was the most adorable fairy ever!

Check out some of this Hambly goodness:

Andrea offered face painting for everyone at the event! I, of course, had to get a cute l’il ladybug on my face. 😉

Left to Right — superhero Canon Girl (Gina), the adorable ladybug (me), Deputy Cris (Cris), and Facebook (Suzy).

Holly brought her son, Tyler, and he’s a cutie for sure!

…and Nancy visited with her two sweet girls, Mackenzie and Ainsley! Here’s a picture of me with Monster Ainsley:

After the event, a group of us crazy gals went up to La Fondue! Holy smackers, I love this place. It’s nothing like Melting Pot; it’s literally a hundred times better (at least in my opinion). …and just so you all know, I was just there on Tuesday night, haha! Two times this week?! Talk about not staying on track with my challenge! Yikes! I say that it’s time for me to head to the gym, again. 😉

…but before I do that, here’s a couple of layouts I made with the fun Christmas line that Echo Park Paper sent to me:

Happy Friday!

PS: My fingers are crossed. 😉

wii fit and random layouts.

Have you ever played the Wii and exercised at the same time?! Well, I have.

We finally picked up a copy of Wii Fit Plus, and it’s totally kicking my booty.

It tracks weight, BMI, calories burned while playing, and so much more! I especially like that you can customize your “workout” to target your weaknesses. Anyway, if you ever get bored of going to the gym, this is a fun way to exercise. It really does burn calories. 😉

On a completely different note, I wanted to share a few of the recent design projects that I finished.

I went Dear Lizzy happy on this page; I can’t help that American Crafts has some really cute products on the market, hehe!

In all honesty, this layout took me less than 15 minutes to make. The design is simple, and it’s one that can be easily replicated. …so give it a try and see what you can come up with!

Last but not least, here’s a fun layout that I created using the August kit from My Paper Tree House:

As you can see, August’s kit is jammed packed with Echo Park Paper. It’s definitely some cute stuff! …and although the design on this looks more complex than my first layout, it only took me less than 30 minutes to create. No joke, either! That’s the best part about kits – everything is already picked out and ready for you to use.

Yup, if you haven’t already noticed, I’m all about the fast and easy scrapbooking.

How long does it usually take you to finish a layout?
