happy layouts (and cards).

I decided that it was about time for me to use some happy colors in my projects, and I did just that. I was super excited that a shipment of Imaginisce goodies came in the mail today. Look at how cute the Geek Is Chic collection is:

I, of course, had to do a layout about my new glasses, haha! 😉 Geeky paper with my geeky face — it’s absolutely perfect! I’m also thrilled that this American Crafts‘ Thickers set has an “@” symbol. I used it as an “A” in my banner instead.

I hadn’t played along with any challenges recently, so I though that this Bo Bunny sketch challenge would be fun to do:

Here’s my take on the above sketch:

I cut up the fun and bright, Ad Lib collection. …and with the leftover scraps from the above layout, I made two cards. Thus, I’ve decided to turn it into a class over at the store. If you’re local and interested in taking this “One 12×12 Layout, Two Cards” class, find all of the details over here.

…and that’s all the creativity I have for today. I plan on working on another layout before the day ends.

On another note, I love that the summertime has more hours of daylight. I get off work, and the sun’s still out. Woot, woot! After work today, I plan to do some grocery shopping. …and if I’m up for it, I’ll go hit up the gym. I know I shouldn’t overdo it because I’m still recovering from last week’s incident, but being sedentary drives me nuts.

PS: I love Thursdays; wish it was “tomorrow” already.

sharing some creativity!

Tonight’s a crop night over at Our Paper Place, and I’m super excited because it’s a full house. I love spending time with my customers and their creative spirits because everyone inspires each other when they’re here. That’s what I love about this art — creative sharing!

Speaking of sharing, I wanted to post more layouts. (Yes… layouts, again. What?! It’s my forte!)

The store pulled in Imaginisce‘s Berrylicious collection, and it’s absolutely adorable! When I saw those cute little seed packets, it was love at first sight! Besides, I was a former Imaginisce girl, so I just couldn’t resist playing with this paper. Here’s what I did with it:

I think my favorite part about this layout are the honeycomb cut-outs that I placed all over my layout. Super cute, right?! …and I still can’t get over how teeny tiny those seed packets are. I love ’em!

Speaking of seed packets, I really need to get a move on with our garden. It’s in total need of some love (and ltos of green thumbs). I’m late this season with preppin’ everything, but I can still work on planting some things, right? 😉

Happy Friday!

PS: Wow! I’ve been on a bloggin’ roll recently. I should seriously be jumping up and down with excitement, hehe. It’s my fourth day of posting consecutively. 🙂

my love affair.

Hopefully, he doesn’t see this, but I’ve got a major crush on my UPS guy. There’s a problem with this love affair though. He isn’t the main guy that delivers stuff to my store; he’s the seasonal UPS worker helping the main UPS guy, and he’s only working up until Christmas! 😦 I guess I can’t complain because I’m lucky enough to get a hot guy delivering my packages to my store temporarily. 😉

He’s tall, soft spoken, and slightly awkward. When I say “awkward”, I mean that in a good way – as in he’s a dorky kind of guy. If you’ve ever met me, you’d know that I’m outgoing and bubbly, so I tend to flock towards the opposite — shy, geeky, dorky people. HAHA! Maybe I make him feel shy when I talk to him?! …or perhaps I’ve got it all wrong, and he’s flirting with me because he thinks I’m the hottest chick-a-dee in the shopping complex?! What?! It’s true — I totally am. I kid!

He did drop off a package and tell me how cool he thinks my store is, haha! 😉

…and just so you all know, I have been ordering more than usual for the store. Why?! Well, because then I get a lovely package from UPS, of course!

I kid, I kid. This is all in fun just so you know. *wink, wink*

Anyway, I wanted to share some of the latest creations by yours truly.

Here’s a project that I quickly whipped up using Dear Lizzy Christmas from American Crafts:

I LOVE the colors to this line. It’s so Christmas-y, hehe. …but then again, I think that’s the point of this Christmas line. 😉

…and did you know that Imaginisce came out with a new paper line called Garden Party!? It’s absolutely GORGEOUS! Yes, I ordered it, so if you’re local, make sure to come into the store to pick it up when we receive it! ((Maybe the UPS guy will drop it off for me, haha!)) Here’s a Punky Sprouts mini album that I created using this line:

Purty paper, huh?! 😉 It’s a spring-y line, but it works with just about everything.

Lastly, Holly gave me the Sampler’s December kit to design with. It’s totally all about Snowflake Kisses! 😉 Check out these two layouts I created using their current kit:

Anyway, I should be getting back to work. I need to finish pricing the latest Echo Park Be Mine stuff that my lover dropped off for me earlier today. 😉 Oh, and speaking of Echo Park, check out this mini album that I created using this line:

Drop into the store to pick up some for your stash. You’ll fall in love with it the way I did with the UPS guy, haha!

*daydreamin’ about the UPS dude*

PS: I seriously hope that he doesn’t know where to find my blog, haha! Besides, he’d have no chance with me. My cute l’il self has already found someone to make my heart flutter. 😉

how do i do it?!

To tell you quite honestly, I’m not even sure how I have managed to get by this past week. Ever since I announced that I was opening Our Paper Place, my phone has been ringing non-stop, the emails are constantly filling my inbox, and I have been on the go, go, go! …and just so you know, I’m holding up just fine. Busy, but keeping my head held high. 🙂

I haven’t been posting much, but I still wanted to share some Halloween memories. This year, Maui and Hilo decided that they wanted to be matching sea turtles. ((Okay fine… I admit. I was the one who wanted them to wear it, haha.)) Here are some photos that I snapped of them wearing their costumes:

Okay, so have you seen turtles cuter than this?! I think not! 😉

Oh, and because I can’t go without sharing something scrapbook related… have you checked out the Imaginisce blog recently?! Echo Park Paper challenged us Imaginisce designers to use their papers showcasing the irock and itop. Well, we definitely showed Echo Park how it was done! 😉 Here’s the layout I created:

Awesomeness, right?! Make sure to check out the rest of the projects that we came up with! Hopefully, you’ll feel inspired to create something fun. Also, if you are interested in being a part of the Imaginisce design team, you’ll want to read up on that too on their blog. They’re an awesome manufacturer, so TRY OUT! Besides, it never hurt to try. 😉

…and if you want to know more about my new store opening up towards the end of this month (November 26th to be exact), make sure to follow along over at Our Paper Place. You’ll be able to see current events and classes, as well as sign up for them!

PS: Thank you to those who have sent me such encouraging emails about my weight loss. I’ve been noticing the difference in clothing size, so I’m definitely happy about that! 😉

Do you need some inspiration to get started with your latest Imaginisce goodies?! No worries because it’s time for a new sketch! Check out this month’s current challenge:

I decided to flip the sketch horizontally. Here’s what I came up with:

A simple and clean layout – just the way I like it! …and don’t you just love that I used the Dino Roar collection?! These papers work great for those outdoor photos!
