It’s Halloween-time! Yeah, we’ve been prepped since the end of September, but this past weekend just felt so festive. Speaking of festive, I never shared pictures of the decor around the house.
This past weekend, we went to one of the many members’ parties thrown by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We specifically went to this event because it was a Halloween Dance Party! It’s pretty awesome, especially when their staff is dressed up in their costumes, and they’ve decorated some of the exhibits. Plus, they hand out Halloween candy. Here’s some of the photos that we snapped that evening:
It wouldn’t be a trip to the aquarium without some random shots of the sea life, right?!
We also had the pups put on their costumes for a quick little photo shoot. Every year, we dress them up in new costumes. This year, I die of how cute they are, especially since their paw-rents are Aggie alumni. Moo!
…and to top it off, we gutted our pumpkins and carved our pumpkin haul. This year we carved Disney pumpkins. It was super exhausting but lots of fun. The dogs love it for all of the gutted pumpkin on the floor, haha!
After this past weekend, I’m feeling beat from all of the Halloween festivities. If I don’t post before Thursday, wishing everyone a happy (and safe) Halloween!
PS: Two more days! 🙂
I love adventures; that’s nothing new. The ocean changes every second, making an adventure in itself. Perhaps that’s why I’m so fascinated by it and all of the creatures that call it home.
Having a membership to the Monterey Bay Aquarium is so worth it, especially when you live nearby and plan on going multiples times within a year. On the day after Christmas, as a gift to myself, we paid a visit to the aquarium. Here’s some of the images that we captured in the jellyfish exhibits:
If I could have it my way, I’d spend all day watching these beautiful creatures do their magnificent dance. I find it so therapeutic, so calming.
Life has been throwing so many curve balls at me. Change is inevitable, and although scary at times, I’m going to get through all of this.
Everything happens for a reason, right? That’s what I keep telling myself.
When life gives you two wonderful opportunities, but you can only choose one, how do you decide which path to take?

The past couple of days have been super eventful. Yesterday, we drove out to spend the afternoon at The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and today, we spent the day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I took tons of photos, so make sure to check back for some really neat shots. I can’t wait to share all of them!
Now, let’s talk about the good stuff! There’s a story behind the mini album pictured below. Suzy was looking for someone to create with one of the latest Punky Sprouts book. Well, guess who was nominated to work on a last minute project for the booth?! Me.
I had some Apple Cider by Imaginisce to create with, so I took the blank mini album back to the hotel room. Can you believe that I stayed up until 3 am working on this bad boy?! Nonetheless, I love the colors to this book. It’s making me wish it was fall already.
Anyway, I’m thinking about teaching it for a future class. What do you think?
Also, I wanted to share the latest kit from The Sampler. August’s kit is looking super cute; July’s kit was completely sold out, so make sure to snag this month’s kit soon! Here’s a fairly simple layout using the August kit. Check out the fun “back to school” stuff this month:
Do you like how I incorporated school supplies into this layout? I made sure to use lots of staples to embellish on this one. Furthermore, I used Crackle Paint to create a “sticky” look on the glue bottle. Did you also notice how I added a paperclip to the top of my photo? I think it’s awesome that I used actual school supplies to embellish my page; it adds such a neat touch to the overall theme of my project. This one totally fits perfectly for those “back-to-school” projects. 😉
Lastly, I wanted to pass on that there’s a giveaway going on over here.
That’s it for now. I will be back soon with some of our recent summer pictures!
